To go up to the DJ/Artist, and ask him for the name of the track that he is playin'?

When I play, if someone comes and ask for a name, I take it as a positive feedback...

So why people afraid to do so?           https://soundcloud.com/avivtech

its okay if the artist isnt in the critical situation - like mixing the next track or adding effects live while being drunk/stoned in hell.

next time try writing more details in topic's title.

"Is it a bad thing?" is a very very bad title and doesn't provide any information to nobody about what's the topic is about.           I may rise, but I won't shine ...

is it equally bad / not bad to request the dj to play a few of your fav tracks of the moment..?           Nothing is said that has not been said before.

requesting them to play ur trax is fine .. it's what they are there for ... but some of them have airs about them considering themselves beyond taking requests and don't oblige. tough!

going up to them in the middle of a mix to ask which trax playing is kinda off tho!!

both above activities better done in writing .. maybe on a paper napkin or such!!

its okay to ask track name if u r the organizer or in the organizer's entourage or if you are ridiculously good looking or a celebrity....but if you are just a fan, you are pest and pests need to be controlled..           When death comes to your doorstep, make sure you are alive

Request to play a track ? Live ? How ? But asking, sure if it is possible and Dj not in mixing mode.. Also if it is too loud it is a bit fucked up to ask..

Hehe but the best thing is: (i done it also) after the dj is finished playing and you talk with him.. You mention this one track that was so cool, and he want to know what it is..

But the only thing you remember is some of the sounds of it, trying to sing it out... wow so funny stuff.. bet some of you also been there:)            3o~ kriz aka krize 3o~ ....Horrordelic Records.... http://www.horrordelic.com

not at all.
when i play i will be the lone person to decide what is being played.
this is what i get paid for - my art - and this is not matter of 'crowd favorite' tracks or 'organizer' choise.
im not a dj anymore tho , as much i wish to be they book only my lively act.

regard the Q if its ok to ask for tune... i met this few times and it can be ok and it can suck.. if you ask for track that is in the atmosphere and genre of what the dj play it can work out (i one time didnt had with me the specific track but the dude had it in his car so i told him to go get it lol) - on the other hand if someone come to ask gms infected or skazi they might get polite 'later maybe' answer , and that meens i hate them lolz

anyhow in live show no way i change anything for anyone.. maybe 1 track as bonus if its one of my older ones and they insist ok.

im surprised that people actually come by asking for their fav's to be played. maybe at a more private scene where you know each other...
nothing personal to you or anyone here, however i do not find psytrance artists very approachable in terms of wanting to know a what track they are going to play next or the current one.. lolz - infact we ask for the names of the tracks in party review threads..           Nothing is said that has not been said before.

well again it was track that i sometimes play and just didnt think of it that same day.. and it was very small event... non the less in big events there always will be 2 people on drugs who even try to touch the mixer etc. and this why the stage usualy is higher and not aproachable..           www.sattelbattle.com
