Basically, if as a DJ/Artist you spin morning /melodic music ..eg like Protoculture, Tikal, Altom or Fatali would it be harder for the crowd to identify with the music in closed, dark settings? Usually for acts like Artifakt and Kindzadza maybe even Electric Universe i could be comfortable indoors with lotsa trippy UV decors.

But for the earlier mentioned acts somehow i would prefer hearing these acts outdoors and in the daytime. Outdoors because ..a) I have my space and b) Becasue i can feel the 'daytime' (for lack of a better word).

On the same note, would it be easier to create your little journey as a DJ/Artist somewhere outdoors(read: daytime) if you played more sunrays oriented music?

I dont like to play indoors , mostly because of the acoustics of the place that make that everything sound like crap, nothing like a huge natural enviroment where the sound can go everywhere and doesnt return back, besides the people that come to indoors party here in mexico most of the time doesnt have anything to do with the psychedelic scene and that sucks hehe.......

Natural All the way!!!           If u are Something, Dont ask for nothing
If u are Nothing, Dont ask for something

Music is always better outside if the weather and the location is right.

For indoor events, I think its harder to create a musical flow over the event where you will finish of moving into softer sounds.
This is mainly due to the fact that you do not experience the sunrise and transformation in your surrounding environment which will then echo in the musical flow.

Therefore, I prefer my indoor parties to start out soft, and get harder and harder - While at outdoor events, I prefer that the musical flow follows natures own flow (sunrise/sundown/temperatures --- and chillout in the evening so people can sleep also (festivals)).

I can always count on something constructive from Krell
But for instance, at the Jaia and Wizack Twizack gig the Proggy room had a completely different 'lightin' effect. Not pitch black with lasers shootin at you, but a warmer feelin, a fuzzy feeling to the whole room. Very Nice!! Showed the orgs had some sense of atmosphere. Twizack on the other hand was crazy dark, twisted lookin shit..
So u think lightin can play a role too..?           ~*** You can tell By the way i use my walk, Im a woman's man, No time to Talk***~

Yes, Im sure lighting can play a role as well - But, I rarely see lighting where the organizer is following a concept to fit the music.

Its a very good idea though, and something I will give further thought in the future.

Some Clubs I've been to allow you to "experience" as you say the Sunrise There can be a nice pavement, or a glass roof, some bay windows, and so on..

Perhaps there is simply no proper indoor place with boOmbastic sound system in Mexico..

Again and again, I like both (indoor/outdoor)           .

I think people are way too locked into the whole 'certain music at certain times in certain environments' thing... play some uplifting stuff in the middle of the night and it will go over very well (out here anyway)... I think there will be a huge geographical variability to this however. It's no longer outdoor party season in Toronto... people still want to hear positive stuff though.
