and techno surprises you? techno may sound great and have an awesome groove... but as far as surprises go i think techno is the farthest it can get from surprises from its very definition...

maybe you've been listening the wrong kind of techno, i dont know, to me it does surprise me, simply because anything can be used, not just the regular trance clichets. Plus, its constantly fusing itself with any kind of music, something I dont see the same thing happening with trance for a very long time.
I'm glad you redescover trance, and it works for you again, unfortunatly that doesn´t apply to me, so well have to stick with the taste, and that's pretty much as far as we can go in this discussion.

The sound isn't the best, I hear that! but no mastering?
Funny that today everything is so technical but the old schoolers did great without most of it.

Damn. Great respect to the pioneers.

I was listening to a synth band called KOTO yesterday and found that they where having "fullon" basslines in 1993 or 1994. Listen to them! inspiring

Forgive my English grammar I'm drunk and Swedish slesian(polish) jew, a wonder I can even spell:D

Great oldschool pumping bassline? there you Go enjoy

I've been listening to what you would call uplifting, hell yeah commercial, trance for 9 years now. Before that I bought a few goa cd's that you can call the old school goa sound. And I liked it. Somehow I got attracted to the more commercial trance (Armin, Sean Tyas, Ferry Corsten, ...).
While I'm still loving that scene, I feel I want to go deeper, to find out whether there is trance music I so adore with a deeper feeling.

Lately, and luckily, I've found Suntrip. I remembered Filteria from his first album and while listening to Daze, I was amazed.
The true sound of Goa with high quality modern sound. I totally dig it.
Then I heard Artifact303 and E-Mantra .... WOW!
I can only hope that this kind of music blossoms again.
Goa is what I've been looking for. I found it. I'm happy.

Just because the bear is hibernating doesn't mean it's dead.

I would say no but it is transforming,it has changed a bit but there is still fresh produced goa coming out.The releases from suntrip for an example are excellent, really loved Khetzal`s cd Corolle that they released. There are a couple of goa producers out there,i listen alot to E-mantra,Ra and Filteria etc but for me the best goa is still the old Astral projection.

depends on the season.
but on a serious note, i think Suntrip, Phototropic (and other labels) and all of the new school/wave goa artists keep GOA alive and kickin'. yes, it's not the same, but do you really want to hear the same 90s goa? and then complain about the "oldish" sound?
i'm glad for those guys and i enjoy their creations as much as i enjoy a classic Indoor (for example) track.

GOA sees to be on the comeback trail. Quality of fullon on the other hand is just getting worse and worse. No feeling whatsoever anymore. Maybe a handfull ok tunes released last year...

Ahhahahahhaahhaa i cant stop laughing
it sounds so catchy but still old
i love it, it sounds like nostalgia music like i was listening to as a 5years old, just with my favourite bassline

oh the awesome!! xD
