i don't agree.
anyone can produce real goa tunes in 2009, with hardware or software, it doesn't matter.
i don't care much about the labelling of music.
I do care about the spiritual melodies and structures of goa though.
Tear-in-the-eye melodies, architectural-non-stereotyped structures... that's goa for me

Interesting to read what bull shit you wrote, as Filteria is 100% analog, pure synth madness... Go and correct yourself

Anyway, goa-trance (like in old school goa trance) is not dead imo... We have lots of releases coming up, 12 "old school - 90's" goa cds released and some other labels are trying to promote this sound as well... Besides that here in Belgium you have an overload of parties with ONLY melodic "old school" goatrance.

Check out if it is your taste or not...

Here in Belgium the term "goa trance" is only used for goa-trance made between 1994-1998 and of course the melodic goa trance like anthems released after 98 (some call it new school as well)

I know some call the whole psychedelic movement goa trance... it's all a matter of definitions!

Realy? It wasn't sounding so analogue and his sound was enough compressed..Anyway,I can listen with the same pleasure as I uesed the old stuff but the similar nowdays produced stuff hmmm I can't get it,there is a big difference between them but I can't describe it at all..

here are pictures of his studio: http://www.filteria.com/site/?page=studio
Actually a bigger part of our artists work 80% ore more analog (like Goasia, Khetzal, Ra,...)

About the difference you hear, maybe it is the different mastering or the fact the bassline has mostly more kick, it sounds indeed a little different, more modern... it isnt an exact copy of the old style, it is more like the modern interpretation of the old style

tasos... i might agree with you in some of those issues - but about filteria? hes the closest thing to pleiadians (the older style) and his synth work is simply incredible... there are some tracks of his which i dont like the kicks but his layering and synth work just keep that issue far off the psychedelic radar... i for one am extremly happy that we have such a great artist active in this scene

All this was just my opinion guys.As for Filteria don't get mad I just mentioned him as an example since I had the chance to see his live act..I just didn't like it and I believe is far away from the old style creativity

p.s His kicks were realy disturbing

Me?

Thanks man! I've always used it as my artist logo. It's my actual head.

It's been my dream to get a blue artist name on this forum since I registered years ago.

In the last couple of months I've become really happy with my mixdowns and tracks. I've sold a couple of songs - although not to any record labels. My music has been used on some corporate videos and a fantastic breakbeat artist has done a couple of remixes of my stuff.

I partially agree with some of the replies here - but only partially.

Modern goa does lack some of the catchy melodies, and the awesomeness of the old tracks, but it's still very nice to listen to, and dance

Excellent! YOU GET IT. Bravo

I think that you can even say that Goa is a state of mind. Listen, Goa is NOT about applying a formula from the past or merly mimicking the melodies from the good old days. No, that aint it. The melodies in Goa music come from the heart, they are fresh, they are in the present talking to you soul to soul. It’s about the genuine spiritual psychedelic experience expressed through trance.

Some other music that is not trance might be more connected to the Goa spirit than most trance these days. Do you know what I mean? Because of the spiritual aspects, because it the spirit is resonating at similar frequencies.

Its all about the genuine psychedelic experience, the real deal. Thats Goa for me and why I was captured by it.

So how can that be dead? maybe we got lost but the road is still there.

Goa is breathing and very well, thanks.
More and more parties have their first artist/Dj opening with Goa instead of progressive as we somentimes see.
It works fine. But to listen to Goa and get into the mood, you need to have atmosphere too. Incenses, mainly do the magic.
