Oh no! I can't believe goa would be dead!
Just look at all the 'goa' parties on goabase:

- http://www.goatrance.de/goabase/parties/?style=goa&saAtt[country]=

(though I don't believe all of them really are goa...)

we always go back to the basics.
in most of my tracks you can listen to the goa influence.
so dont go with what everybody says just do your thing.

Sweetly said.....

Goa is alive, it's just changed/evolved with time in sound.. The Goa days was just the birth in electronic dance form, one of the few souls born without flesh and has grown since them days....For maximum entertainment we suggest you take it at face value and accept it as channeled material... of course you don't have to believe, it's an observation from the application given per say, impression....

is goa dead? hell no... it was dormant for the past say 8 years but in the past 2 years you hear more and more goa and goa influenced releases and you have labels like suntrip doing their best to sign and promote new goa artists and revive the old ones - here in israel you can find a growing number of goa parties and even in the biggest productions there is a goa act on the lineup, i can admit that in the past few months ive been listening much more to oldies than new music (thanks to the classics thread ) but i think the poptrance era is over and artists are looking searching again to create the emotions and state of mind that goa trance has always had... between the so called prog (more like minimal these days) and the 200bpm music there are alot of new interesting sounds and like i said the poptrance seems to be dead so its back to the roots now

I grew up whre goa and psytrance was the same.Atleast for us here.Nowadays it splitted in pieces with its special subnames and onesided moods .For me it remains the same, even tha supersonic shanti ones.

none can make goa in 2009..it's so simple!since the production and mastering became from analogue to digital, you can't make goa with the new ways..goa was the madness and the unique sounds camed from analogue machines and not some vst..these so called new goa sounds are realy ridiculus to my ears just because is digitaly mastered and produced..I saw Filteria live the last summer and was sounding so bad..a copy from the past digitaly produced = no sense!Goa is over, stop dreaming about it,you can make retro parties with old stuff but no with new stuff or digitaly remastered oldies..the magic of it has gone.We are in the age of sampling now

Deedrah - Fields of Pellenor
no glitches, slow goa tempo, triplet goa basslines and vibe.
All that in 2009

Why does it matter? You can't find music that you like without labeling it and attaching some spiritual value to it?           You believe in the users?
Yeah, sure. If I don't have a user, then who wrote me?

i agree.

personally i never liked goa trance, way too many melodies... from what i heard labeled as 'new age goa' i didnt like it at all. bad production and nothing new and interesting.. only too many arps

respect for the people that like this music and try to keep it alive... but is making music that was listened to 10 years ago the right way?

one more thing, GOA as a word is so OVERUSED by yellow sunshine explosion and other labels that were using that name to sell more cds on the old fame of goa trance. 'new age goa' music will never expand to wider audience if kept the same name (and/or style).. think about it, lots of people think that cheap fullon is goa trance nowdays           www.soundcloud.com/float
