i met albert hoffman at the arche goa party (with a marathon djset by goa gil) about 5 years ago in basel, switzerland. it was truly a unique party at a magical place with wonderful people.
i would have never imagined to see albert (at that time 95 years) dancing on the main floor on a sunny sunday afternoon to goa music (by goagil). he was full of life.
Ps: nina hagen was there aswell. for those who don't know her, she's the queen of punk in germany. we offered her a spliff, but she didn't accept it. i guess her manager was sitting next to her and he was not cool with it seriously, i thought she'd appreciate some good swiss green, hehe

hehe. i saw him at the symphosium. cool that he is such a spiritual acidhead, i thought he would be more of a "only use lsd for psychological work you bastards" kinda guy.
allthough i cant see that the ego-build that his birthday was can be of any use for him personally. he should be getting ready to destroy that ego-sam-biatch, not attatching to it and strenghtening it further. maan. hehe. anyways...nice albert, nice attending people, nice switzerland, nice parties...it was all good:)
...except for that egobuild-thing.
it is a little bit uncalled for to call albert hofman a guru, even though he was chosen to be the reciever of the mysteries of lsd.
ah yea. dont venture too far on that buddhapath. oh yea, forget that, do it:) |

"It" has not been "invented" (like some designer-drugs are trying to do nowadays with other chemical substances) but "synthesized" when he was working on the possible therapeutic applying of the rye ergot (ergot is a grain fungus that grows on rye).
So it was not an "eureka !!" thing from a mad scientist..
Just to clear the distinction out.
So now, as we don't want this thread to turn into an apology of the molecula or essays about its origins, there are numerous websites and forums dealing about it.. And that yes yes Dr. Albert Hofmann IS alive definitaly, while the american painter Albert Hoffmann is resting in Peace, I'm locking the thread.
