Hi all,

My name is Gregg, I'm a mastering engineer based in Milan, Italy (before that 12 years in Yokohama, Japan, before that in the UK). I've been on here about a year, but never checked this sub-forum until my good friend Dave (Dog Ov Tears), told me that this is where all the action is happening!

My main trance days were in London, UK, around 1995-1998, was lucky to attend loads of seminal parties back in the day (Return To The Source, Escape From Samsara, Psubliminal Psychedelia etc.)

Have mastered a few tracks for Dave, and a load of other Psy artists (check client list and examples page on my website), and am hoping to find more work here. Happy to do a little demo for anyone. If you send me a track, I'll master it and send back a snippet for you to hear my work. I use a hybrid digital/analogue/digital loop, with lots of choice pieces of gear (check the "Gear" page), and a very fine pair of ATC monitors.

Also very happy to meet you all, discuss any music, recording, mastering questions etc.

Best wishes,

Gregg at Hermetech Mastering, Milan           http://hermetechmastering.com : http://www.discogs.com/artist/Gregg+Janman : http://soundcloud.com/babaluma

Maybe nobody coz u charge 600 euro which is almost $800.00 to master an album.

Wont tell ya to drop the price, coz ur an artist and to each its own; but with those pricetags i can with almost 100% guarantee say that its very unlikely that you'll find any clients here.

But goodluck man.

Thanks for replying, and fair enough. I know some people aren't in a position to be able to afford professional mastering, but I would like to point out that my prices are extremely competitive, just take a look at other mastering facilities with similar experience, gear and client list etc.

I'd be happy to master a free sample for people if they'd like to hear what I can do, and there is a Psy track I mastered as a free lossless download on my site. I actually met that client on Isratrance, so some people obviously do think it's worth it. Just ask Dave how the track I recently mastered for him went off on a big rig in the desert a couple of weeks ago!

All the best,

G

Hi Gregg... If I can make a suggestion, why not offer to master tracks on a single track basis. Something between 20-50 euro a track. This is something that Colin Oood does and it seems to get him a lot of clients, plus it helps to get your name out there. For sure seeing the price tag for mastering an album can seem a bit steep, especially when many labels tend to work with people a bit more flexible about their pricing. I know your mastering is good, especially hearing what you've done with Dave's work. I just would suggest a more flexible approach in order to gain clients.           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

Hi Mubali,

Thanks for the suggestions. If you check my site you'll see that's always been my policy, I'm of course happy to master individual tracks! Rate is £50 per track.

Thanks for the kind words on Dave's music, it's always a pleasure to master his stuff!

Dave's also suggested my prices are probably a little high for the Psy scene, but I'm happy to work within people's budgets if it's a project I want to be involved with.

All the best,

late to the party as i havent logged in here in eons, but yeah, Gregg is awesome, he mastered my album, if you want nice clean punchy mastering with no harmonic distortion and loads of sonic detail brought out to the surface, then go Babaluma!
