Once again, here we come with one more interview. This time we took some time to talk to Chris Organic. Below is a little bit of the interview. Remember to head over to www.psylosophy.com for the full thing
---
From the mind of this man came the idea of releasing an album to help out the victims of the recent Tsunami disaster. The final work is a three-CD compilation featuring tracks from famous acts from all over the world, some of them never-released before. Chris Organic is one of the first names that comes to mind when you think of Progressive Trance. But Chris is much more than just a Progressive addict. He's involved in more projects than you can count and his range of styles is so big you wouldn't believe it. Recently, we had some time to chat with him a bit, and here's the result.
Psylosophy: What´s your psylosophy in life?
Chris Organic: Dont take it so seriously.
Psylosophy: What was the best party you ever played at?
Chris Organic: Earthcore in Australia.
Psylosophy: What about the worst?
Chris Organic: All the ones where the warmup DJ plays as loud and hard as possible. They should be hung up and beaten with wet fishes.
Psylosophy: When can we expect the next solo album from Chris Organic?
Chris Organic: I'm working on a whole load of tracks under the name "Benefactor" with Colin from OOOD, and also on a whole load of remixes of stuff like Pop Stream and Safi Connection amongst others, which will all be put together in my Digital Wizards compilation... As for a solo album, when I've got time to sit and make some music i'll be working on my next album, hopefuly by the end of this year.
Psylosophy: Unlike most of the progressive artists, who get really deep into the scene, you've always managed to mantain a Chris Organic: Connection with other genres of electronic music, such as Psytrance and Chill-Out/Ambient/Dub. What other genres do you listen to on a regular basis (maybe even outside the electronic scene)?
Chris Organic: I'm glad you've noticed! Ususally I get people just giving me labels, like "Chris, you are so psychedelic!" or "So fluffy!" he he but yea, usually when I'm driving around or working in my other business or whatever I listen to all kinds of music... Rock, hip hop, radio crap, chill-out, dub, etc...
Psylosophy: From Organic Records comes a 3CD compilation featuring generously donated tracks from the biggest names in chill-out and trance, with all profits going to the Disasters Emergency Committee. How did this idea come up?
Chris Organic: I think, like most people, I was really shocked to see the news and what had happened. When they started to appeal for money and help, I was thinking that it would be nice to contribute, but in a way that was much more meaningful than just giving £20 to charity. So I discussed the idea of doing a CD release especially for the Tsunami disaster with the other guys in the label. At first we thought of doing a CD single, with some nice tracks from our next few compilations, but as we discussed the idea with more people, we realized this should be an album.
Psylosophy: What was the reaction of the artists in the compilation?
Chris Organic: Mostly we had an awesome reaction. Some tried to find ways of making money from it, others just made our life hard with constant complaints and stuff, but most of the artists were very cool.
Psylosophy: How do you see Organic Records in a few years?
Chris Organic: Well being a future-thinking guy, and always trying to see the bigger picture, I think I’m going to be a part of the new wave psychedelic revolution which will take over the world and make people realize that fabricated sell-out pop music is pure evil, and share some paradise for my retirement with my friends and allies from the scene who made it all happen.
