The Phatty does not really sound like that MOSLAB...I would even say the Minitaur sounds more like the MOSLAB than the Phatty especially in the VCO department.

Not fond of that style of music at all my self to be honest... and generally use my SP for completely different sounds, but good video of simple 2 VCO sounds that the Phatty is capable of.

Great thread. It's fucking rock in here.
Something for Virus TI users, set a patch with only the first oscillator. Load the Sine, first of the wavetables, or any other you might find interesting in grain or formant complex lists and set an lfo controlling 100% the oscillator's f-shift and spread on a 1/16 rate, s/h wave. Beginning with these parameters, there are some more modulation paths to go further..
Haven't tried much for something like this in Omnisphere yet but two or three times I did, watched few interesting results so far by modulating the pitch of the oscillator instead of frequency shift and spread.

Nectarios is pure rox. Saving money for mcbeth micromac one or two months now, hopefully with moogerfooger delay and cluster flux. I was thinking that it would be a good idea to have one analog path in the set up and the micromac seems to be a beast

Some more of sample and hold technics modulating several parameters.. there is an ocean of interesting sounds to go through as it seems, not only on hardware.

not exactly like this, no. though in other software synths and effects there are other parameters to modulate than freaquency spread and shift as they're found in virus. I don't enjoy much being rude at people they don't deserve.. though it's better to think a little more before 'asking'..
here's the midi shaper, software to go deeper in.. shaping waves. here you can draw your own sample and and hold wave e.g, and assign it to any desired parameter of your software synth via midishaper's LFOs maybe.
