Hi Z.C.,

..when this cd came out i was very suprised from it. i'm following Iboga rec from the very start and never got disapointed from them. Nether i'm now. i realy like this cd and got some exelent tracks inside. it just make me curious, so in samothraki i ask Jeppe about it and he told me that they just show to the ppl that they can be as full on as they like and certaitly this will not be the way that Iboga gonna follow. I don't know if their sales raised with it but mayby this is a message to ppl that a label or a Dj might go progressive but doesnt mean that he quits psychedelic (or what he means as psychedelic).
Also now days i see very clear a seperation between this 2 styles. before some years you could hear in the same night both styles, now i don't know. progressive went to progressive or psychedelic didn't developed at all?????
personally i think that Iboga will sell more Cd's to more psy oriented ppl and as i see in general or at least in Greece they are more than the Progressive ones.

Music is NOT about standing still and being safe!

This CD is called "Ectoplasma" and not "Etnoscope"!

I'd hardly call BLT, Reefer Decree, POTS, Ethnoscope, Bus etc. Full-On!

"Ectoplasma" Iboga Records [IBOGACD10]

Released August 2002.

Review Courtesy of http://www.psytrancereviews.btinternet.co.uk/

A full on album from stalwart minimal experi-mentalists Iboga might sound far fetched, but here it is and it’s rather good. Etnoscope’s Stealth Mode kicks off, a tasty little number with progressive meat in a full on gravy. Loads of panning, filters all over the place, and a quirky minor key melody to drive it all home. Multilayered metallic maestro Mino pops in with Fly, before Bus steps up with 4 Those About 2 Trance. Bus’ grooves have always been borderline abstract and almost awkw3ard, but this manages to hang together nicely with a heavy dose of FX over a shuffled, ass-wiggle backbone. BLT’s Froggy Business fits in well in advance of the Israeli sandwichmeister’s upcoming original stuff on Iboga, and with quality characteristic stuff from Reefer Decree and P.O.T.S. it all site together nicely. Standouts are Orion’s sublime Reactivated, which is full-to-bursting with energy with busy bassline, sweet runs, and there’s plenty of surprises without it going too totally over the top; and Electric Vendetta’s OD-1, which is one of the most unique flavours in ages, having mad grating melodies soaring over a tight and smooth rhythm section that all begs to be played on a huge-ass system. All in all a good new direction from Iboga which will keep mentalists, minimalists, and purists all as happy as sandboys.
