Depends on what sequencer you are using. 2 cores is gonna do wonders for applications that are multithreaded. I believe that would be all the main sequencers by now.
I believe Cubase is very well optimised to take advantage of more processors, and even 64bit environments now.
I'd go with an AMD dual core over intel, but thats a personal preference. |

the main advantage is the chipset, cpu fsb, and memory channel and bandwidth, not only the dual core procesor. they are starting to appear... 800mhz front side bus, dual channel ddr2, high clock cpu with big L2 cache... thats what you should look for... these are the first laptops that a similar in performance and components to a desktop production system.
cheers cya

Thanxx so far guys!!
I´m using Logic 5.5, and I´m checking a Toshiba A-100 laptop, to hook up my home studio, seems a good laptop.
But, I´ll check the rest of informations about the laptop, like you said.
Thanxx..Pax |

Well. Logic 5.5 I don't think was optimized for dual processors as it hasn't been udated in a couple years or so.... I'd highly also recommend that theres a decent cooling system for you laptop... I have a Dell laptop that's a 3.06 Ghz processor but inadaquate cooling and it caused some issues when producing (especially with Logic)
