There is no chart with something like this.
The only way is to use your ears...

But if it helps, my bassline is usually about -8db, hihats & percussions maybe around -18db till -10db, leads about -15 till -6db and pads & backgroundsounds about -30db till -18db.

I usually work with my kick at the -6db to -2db range. But the trick is changing the levels to fit the kick. For instance, a usual bassline is around 1-3db lower in volume than the kick, etc. The best way to notice that either the volume or EQ of an element are wrong, is that when you play it along with a different sound and it/the other sound becomes less clear, than either lower the volume or work on the EQ, or both, until you can hear both elements clearly.

This way you can learn to trust your ears and give you a much clearer path to notice your weaker points in production over time.

We can't give you exact numbers...
You have to learn to do it by your ears (once we did all crapy mixes).

Another tip is after you finished your mix, listen to it on very very low volume and listen carefully which elements stick out first (our ears is much more sensible at low volumes)...

I don't think you can make guidelines for db levels in a mix...

You can for a lot of things, ( make guidelines, starting points, theoretical things to do, ) for example, panning hi htz, and compressing drums with a ratio somewhere around 3:1....

But, to say that in any given mix, " a kick will be -10 and a pad -17 "

?? Not a good idea at all!!

I think the closest you can get is....

You bass, might be about 5 db lower than your kick, and your clp/snr will be a little lower in the fader than your kick, and your htz as well.....

BUT, lets try to understand why....

Reason:

Higher frequency sounds come out louder with less energy.

Actually, the key to a really tight mix is a " quiet "... Make very quiet mixes, and bring up your volume during the mastering stage...

If you are using your own samples, like you have made your kik, and now you want to put it into " battery " than sure... Make sure you bounce it very hot... -2 db... but then

Try making quiet mixes, you are always better off dropping a level to balance... just like you are better off, cutting an eq to balance...

An awesome local producer gave me this tip.

-8, -5, -3.

Mix with just Kick and Bass should be at -8dB, with percussion at -5dB and everything else should make it sit nicely at around -3dB.

check your db-settings on all parts, play live as much as you can, see how you changed these settings (by boosting/eq'ing) to make it sound better live. Compare the home setings and the live settings. It's a neverending quest!
