Hi All !

'Rollercoaster' is the second album of Tom Shoval and Orel Shapira from Israel. The first album ('Taking Control') was release on 2006 but did not impress me too much. Insomnia's latest tracks releases on compilations (such as Iron Butterfly and Light of Shady) are the reason for this review. The style of this project is powerful full on with very professional level of sound.
Lets check what is hide beyond...

01. Another Road 90 BPM
I think the tempo is say everything - down tempo tune, kind of long introduction, for the upcoming trip. The slow loop together with the female singing are very chilling and relaxing. It's maybe more suitable for the end, but it's a fine material anyway.

02. Displacement 144 BPM
I hope you loaded all energies, because this track is going to force you dig well. The track is growing gradually and direct for one target - CHAOS!
For home it's a bit boring in my opinion, but it contain enough moments for shake the dance floor big time.

03. Sequence Select 144 BPM
One minute and 20 seconds of noisy intro, but when the fat bass is come in, the smile is on. 'Sequence Select' is a sophisticated track - many games with the bassline and varied effects all around. After five minutes the track is go down and present emotionally melody, which climbs up and up until the explosion.

04. 24/7 144 BPM
I like Insomnia project because one reason - always expect the unexpected. '24/7' track has danceable kick and jumpy vibes. Simply Seven and half minutes of pure madness. Three words can sum it up on the best way - FULL ON POWER !!!

05. Argaman 145 BPM
Tom and Shoval are add some color to the track and come up with kind of Electro-Full On kick (which turn completely full on later). Again, they keep surprise the listener and every time it's even more surprising.

06. 21Gram 132 BPM
On the middle of the road we must some rest for recharge our powers, so this is good time to relax with lovely ambient.

07. Nocturno 145 BPM
The serenity is over and we back to business with 'Nocturno'. Trust me people - play this track at high volume and let your body respond automatic. Insomnia's massive bass is do the work time after time without disappoint. Good work guys.

08. Island 143 BPM
As you probably understand I like the style of this duo, but this time, I found this track too cheezy and exhausting. The structure is too similar to the other track, kind of repulsive building.

09. Rational Vision 144 BPM
Like the last track, 'Rational Vision' is also disappointed me. Maybe other listeners will find it refreshing and pumping, but after eight tracks I expected for something different and less "recycled".

10. Cyber Hiker (Insomnia rmx) 140 BPM
Oforia's track 'Cyber Hiker' is get new version from Insomnia guys. If you ask me, the original version is better than this remix, but still Tom and Shoval did a nice work here.

All in all, I think a full album of Full On's project is too much for me. I enjoyed a lot from the first tracks, but it's too tiring to hear 8 tracks (not include 01 & 06), which have almost the same structure.
Don't get me wrong, these guys have really good music, but as album 'Rollercoaster' is too long and less colorful IMHO.
I'm not a big full on fan, but after several refreshing releases from Insomnia I wanted to hear also new things from them but I did not got it...

Haven't given it a full listen yet.
But I liked Taking Control a lot and this album has just got much better production to start with, so I'll probably enjoy this one at least as much as the first album.

Real Fullon, for sure though!

Yes, it's dance floor music, but one year from now will probably be forgotten.

Don't take me wrong, I recommend everyone to check the samples and reach their own conclusions:

However, IMHO it does not present something (except from nice production quality) to put it apart from the many other projects presenting a very similar style (which is very like Xerox & Illumination with Astrix's like build ups).
The build ups are very similar, and sadly there's a similarity in the track structures too.

Sure it does the job at the dance floor, but many many other projects also do, and this alone is not enough for me.

Thought the 24/7 track was especially cool. Loads of deep techy drive throughout the tune. Super phat sound throughout the cd. Keep it up !           HEADROOM - "Artelligent" (NANO Records) out now....... www.myspace.com/headroomusic
