Ok, hereŽs the thing, I have a track finished, but iŽd like to add a few more bars to the intro.

I could just grab the whole track, put "automatation to follow events" and place it a few bars further, but the thing is I got about 50 audio tracks, out of wich 40 are frozen...so I canŽt move them unless I unfreeze them, move them, and then I need to freeze them all again so my computer can play the track (its overloading like shit audio drops all the time), this would take a looooot of time!!

Any other simpler way to do this without having to unfreeze and re-freeze all the tracks?

Like inserting a few bars of time or putting the track to start at (-)1:00, IŽve tried to look for something like this but couldnŽt find...

Thanks for the help

Can't you press CTRL+A (select all) and then drag the whole lot at once, it moves all your automation too, so you can add as many bars as you need.

I think this works with frozen tracks too.

Use Insert Time from the Edit -> Range menu.

[EDIT] You might have to unfreeze any frozen tracks or instruments first, otherwise they might not move when the space is inserted. Try it out first before unfreezing, though.

Sorry, I can't help... The only way I would do it, is just 'audio-export' and insert the whole track in your project. So you're able to make a new intro.

But I have a question about this "automatation to follow events"-option. Where and how do you activate this option?

also u can add fruity loops vst and simply to make the intro with that since u can tell the fruity how many bars before cubase to start ( i sometimes use the deafault -8 but mostly make it zero to start with the cubase sync)

Also, dude, the "Freeze" function is almost worthless.

You save a lot more CPU by simply bouncing the track, and you usually wind up doing more interesting things to the bounced audio since it is availalbe for cutting, chopping and VST-effecting.

Anyway... just my opinion.           http://soundcloud.com/aeon604

IŽll try your tip Colin, it might work

And yeah Aenon, I know, bouncing is always a good option, wich i do, and IŽve been doing more and more

Ephedrix

In the edit menu you can activate or deactivate "automation follow events" this way when you copy something you can choose if you want it to copy just the event, or also the automatation

Allright Thanks!
Well, next question
Is this also possible for the VST-Instruments automatisation?

Another trick for this topic is working with folder-tracks. If you make also a main-foldertrack, let's call it "All" and you put every track in it, it's very easy to move, cut and paste around.

But then still there is the problem of the VST-automatisation wich is not copied with the rest...

You can drag that VST automation track up into the folder.

Whenever I use a VST automation track, I drag it up so it sits directly below the MIDI track it's afffecting. Easier to see what's going on, and if you drag/delete something its easy to select the automation right along with everything else.

Be careful doing this on SX2 though, you can end up with broken automation tracks that you can't delete.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

Good advice above, only thing I can add is to have a preset project, containing all your folder tracks, marker track, ruler track etc etc ready to go, and ensure that you start off from bar 9 or whatever.,,

Ah, yes, one thing I miss about the old VST days was the four bar pre-roll. You could start off at -4 and put all your automation in there.

Are folks still using SX2? I can't imagine going back to life without a VSTi channel strip in the arrange window. Upgrade, people!
