I like the interview ... very deep!
Stalaggh are very candid about the fact that theyve created this to project fear, hate, death into peoples minds with the intent of scaring the shit out of them. With that kind of purpose I feel theyve done a terrific job. Breaking all music/genre boundaries to create an aural experience.
What I would find disturbing though is people listening to this to 'get off' Listening to this music for pleasure. Listening to this music over and over again because they find it cool. IMHO, If you dont get disturbed by this music then its YOU who are disturbed! |

I'm not surprised or schocked by "insane" music. Everything is normal. Everything is crazy.
I haven't heard the samples yet, but i sure will. I'd like to see if there is anything special about it. I got caught by the production techniques of this band and their idea to use menthal patients in their recordings. How have they used them and have they created anything worthy or unheard before I will know after i hear the samples.
"If you dont get disturbed by this music then its YOU who are disturbed!"
Not true.

Well isn't this basically like looking through pictures of murders and things like that? Sure its disturbing and mentally challenging, but so is looking at the gory details of some murder case. Even looking at a dead body can be challenging, but death is far from being something new.
To me the musical and artistic part of Stalaggh is irrelevant, you could insert "twinkle twinkle little star" behind those screaming noises of pain and it would be the same thing, maybe even more emotional and sick.
It remainds me of this newspaper called "La Prensa" which we have in Mexico, it always has the nastiest news and pictures. News like: Guy decapitated with a machete. And they will show right there on the front cover the guys head choped off on the sidewalk. And many people but that newspaper just for that.
So it seems Stalaggh is basically just the same but in audio. Now about the screams themselves I think there is something interesting about them, maybe its that they are sincere.
Now the Stalaggh guys seem to go about how they are these really bad guys on their path of hate and destruction... hehe, maybe its true but to me they sound like every other wanabe comerical artist posing to get some attention.

I don’t know what to make of it either, in a way they sound like devotees of darkness (who use dark energy), like shaman’s who practise black magic instead of healing for instance. It might all be a gimmick as-well, hard to say, yet, those screams sound so real. If they really recorded their second album with several mental-patients going amok (they said that one of the band members was almost strangled to death, by one of the mental patients!), I would definitely consider them to be sincere, to a frightening degree actually. While listening to their track repeatedly, I did feel destructive emotions, as mentioned in my previous post – apparently their music works as they designed it to, which also, is quite frightening imho. According to one of the band members they receive “fan” mail from people who are mutilating their bodies, if that’s really true, they truly are disturbed.

Yeah that is pretty fucked up if true. I think the screams are real, and even if its all for show, just to go and record them is probably enough to conclude they are at least a little bit insane in the membrane.
Ofcourse, nothing compared to Infect Insect. (lol)

there are loads of band like this, but I believe most of them are hoax.. that one of the Stalaggh-members are or have been placed in a mental institution is probably just a PR-trick to feed the hype.
Usually to get around and to sell records in this particular genre of music, you need to be as dark and obscure as possible.. |

We would never sign some fake band, before we signed Stalaggh we checked if everything they say is true. And although it's hard to believe, all they say is true. |

concept is pretty funny, but the music is too monotonous and dull... they do have a very distinct Abruptum influence... Black/sludge/doom metal or whatever you want to call it has lots better bands to offer... Really digging Veles, Crebain, Xasthur, and Leviathan right now... Very original sound that doesn't drone so much that it gets boring... |

did you guys see that Lost episode with the song: "you gotta make your own kind of music, even if no one sings along" ?
i think it's that way.. there are people who listen to it, there are people who create it, and there are people who don't understand it.
I believe that everything that is done with true feelings, and please my ears and my feelings, is welcome.

so i ran into this earlier and after listening to sample from the link for the second time, i thought - and, i hope i wasn't the only one. Hey, how would that sound, with really killargh beat?
so i slapped Infect Insect with -beetluice in horeshit- from the free internet compilation 'Lost in forest'. I mangled it together in sound forge on a whim, it's really disturbing stuff. I actually had to listen to it... a number of times. hope i won't offend anyone morally or legaly wise.
