Inner Lotus Records is currently seeking demo's from morning psytrance artists who'd like to be involved in an upcoming VA compilation net/CD release. The compilations goal is to expose some of the raw talent lurking online going 'unheard' due to whatever reasons whether it be financial/circumstantial (in one case conscription for an artist), lack of self confidence/lack of contacts etc. Artists writing in this genre from all over the world are being invited to contribute their magic.
Every body involved with the compilation will receive an equal share of the profits. I won't be paying for tracks. If you do get involved, the hope is that you would receive extra pocket money from sales whenever they come in.
There is not going to be any weird legal/power structure. Once you are happy to submit a track, as long as it does not end up becoming exclusive to another label after releasing it with this compilation (so we don't end up having to pay rights!) then thats the deal. This means you can release on this compilation, and also release it again with somebody else...
The comp will be released using several distribution networks online. Some artists have wanted to know whether we will release using beatport. At this stage it looks as though because we won't be registering a company, but rather a domain name etc so this might not be possible. More research is needed but we do intend to promote the album extensively once completed. This project is as much about the exposure and bringing artists of a sub-genre together as it is about making some extra $$$.
There have already been several offers to master the album for FREE! There has been some great support from people online more than willing to contribute.
There are some talented artists involved and I think a great compilation is possible.
