Watter, in first place thanks for worring about my friend (which got hurt in the car accident).
But I disagree with you about the Live (even without seeing it), it seems you're still stucked in that bullshit of bashing Live acts.
Artists are free to do their Lives the way they think it will sound better.
A Live is made of lot of work BEFORE the party.

Full_on I understand where u are coming from and since we don't know each other I'll explain where I am coming from....
I don't bash Lives just for the fun of it.... I usualy think it is a disrespect for the producer and so I don't usualy do it but wen u see a guy just pressing play and not doing anything elese in the lap you know that it is fake...... plus the fact that a couple of friends of mine were back stage and saw it... Nate aka Protoculture was freneticly fooling around with the nord but no sound there..... so I guess u get my point..... And for 3 good examples of Lives I do respect and trully recomend u can see Sub6 (filter, eletronic bateria) Sun Kite(violin) and Ticon(they bring a bunch of stuff) so as u can see I am not like a lot of ppl out there that bash Lives just for bashing, as I said I only do it wen I feel riped of

I’m not expert on it but I can tell you that you don’t need an analog instrument to make a Live PA. Do you know what VST is (virtual instruments)??? It could sounds quite the same as a real drum or violin and you can play it by a simple click…
Course its better using some controller to help those things.
Anyway, I personally think you can make Live only pressing some buttons on your Note.
i.e.: you could only work on your loops (it´s Live, isn’t it??)
You don´t need to make some effects by using skobs…
It´s very hard to say what is fake what is not. I personally can´t do it from the dance floor. (I think even from the stage it´s hard to deduce)

Watter, I understand your point of view. If all you need is to characterize a good Live is someone playing flute or violins or nord or any other instrument, ok, it's your point of view.
But what if the artists spent hours or even days in front of their laptops BEFORE THE PARTY, to mix their musics in UNIQUE WAYS, adding samples and effects and even new Bass, Kicks and different Breaks?
IMO the best definition of Live Acts is: The Artists playing their own music, with some of the equipment they use to produce their music (including Computers). Simple as that.
I know for sure that almost all VIBE TRIBE's live acts are different from all others. In fact, they started creating the Live they played at Injoy 3 days before the party.

Ok... well i don't think u need to use other instruments to make a live, one can use only a lap top... examples are WM and Skulptor.... very nice ..... but i will agree on disagreeing with u that a Live is done before and than after u just press play.... I mean of course the base of the set is done some time b4 but still like in a concert I don't wnat to hear some one lipsinc... I wanna see a real show... even if it is a laptop sinfony...
