Good evening,

Help me if you can... I didnt find anything good on the search engine. I'm trying to find some good info on how to equalize music. I have no clue how to use the equalizer to maximize the quality of trance music.

Thanx           cna't find it

hey shrom

let me help you out with some simple Basic Rules for playing with EQ.

basicly what you want to make is a finished track that each sound will be hearable from the total frequancies.

what you should do for a basic start is ot "sit" every sound on its unique frequancy :

1. the very low frequancies (30Hz and lower, we wont hear clearly and it makind 'dim' sound on the overall track, so what you should do is to cut the low frequancies.

2. put the kick on half midi freq. (arround 4000hz - 6000hz and a full mid-low freq. (arround 60Hz - 80Hz).

3. put the hihats on a high freq. (arround 10Khz - 16Khz) and if you have several different hihat roles the put them on a different freq. so they wont be on the sme freq. exactly.

and so on, you put the snair, loops, sounds, pads, talking , fx work on a different freq.

now start to play and let me know hows things progressing with it.

Arie.

This sure helped a lot! Big thanks mate!
I'll do some testing and messing around now...

About the low frequencies... I thought I was supposed to leave them untouched. I know we can hear from 20hz up to 20000hz, so why remove from 30hz down and not 20hz?

I have noticed the "dim" sound on the back and I didnt know it was because of those frequencies...

Best wishes!           cna't find it

there isnt' a 'formula' to make sound, whatever works its good.
