Eh.. such hating going on.
"Back in the day", which is to say 2000-2001.. I saw Infected Mushroom a couple of times.. back when JEG (Tsunami) was going nuts with bringing them here... Those parties were fun. Astral Projection and Sun Project were a blast too. Real excitement at those parties. The music, for the time, was pretty cool! It wasn't played out then.
So ok, now I prefer different styles and I don't listen to that stuff or play it anymore.. and Infected does horrible covers of Door songs... That's the state of things in 2009... Well, that's too bad. But I'm not gonna get on here and piss on the past.

I wasn't into Infected Mushroom since before it was cool to be not so into infected mushroom...
I remember smoking a spliff with some Israeli friends on Koh Panghan after The Gathering came out and thinking "meh."
Classical Mushroom was interesting to listen to for a couple a spins... unique stuff for the time and genre.
Did you ever see them LIVE back then though, Brett? Come on, they used to KILL it at 7-9 am at all the festivals! Super powerful and melodic without being cheesy.

i've seen them dj in LA on the beach in Ventura back in 2001, maybe 2002, and it was a lot of fun. We got to hang with them for a little bit before and after and they were quite humble back then. They were very open about talkin shop too. then we bounced the afternoon away to the first 3 albums worth of material with a couple hundred friends at the free beach party.
it was great that there weren't any vocals in their music back then, but as its been pointed out, most musicians evolve their sound in some form or another.

I've seen IM several times, here in US and other countries...when I saw them first time at Aria, Montreal, back in 2003, I was astonished...they played 1.5 hr live and 2 hr dj set...one of the best sets I've ever seen...after that, I noticed how their style have changed over the years...I can't say how they sound today, but by the "Doors" video, I'd likely to stay home. But big respect for them and what they have achieved, and for the fact that they are really nice down to earth guys...
