I agree that artists should be treated with respect..To a certain level! But the latest incident with an organizer trying to book IM in Denmark does not make them deserve much respect.
We all know they don't really play live. At best they press the button on the Laptop and sing and play a little Guitar (as awful as it gets).
Now how much should such a band charge to do a PLAYBACK performance?
I'll tell you the exact amount they try to rip-off the Audience and organizers (how stupid can you get if you agree to pay that amount of money).
They ask for:
First Class tickets.
and a fee of:
Euro 20,123
Dollars 26,476
And that's without the 1st class tickets and all the equipment they demand the organizer hire to fill the stage (even though they don't even touch it).
All in all the bill run up to:
Euro 28,172
Dollars 37,074
Are they really worth this Mega Star fee?
I know what my answer is.
Good if they can get away with charging those fees. BUT I cna not respect a band charging so much money when they don't even play live.

Iknow other "stars" that are charging this amounts also to do a playback. So it´s for sure it´s awfull but at other side untill there are organizers and people who want to pay this amounts they gonna continue with this. And just one question if they made some money already and they have good PR and marketing managers so why they just don´t act like an Pop band, I mean playing on MTV brings much more and they could make some commercial clips for Danone or something like that. the psychedelicscene doesn´t belong any more to you

Have you seen the music video for Becoming Insane? It is an clear attempt to access MTV ect.
MTV doesn't even want them, yet. If this track/Video goes on the MTV Dance Chart. Then .. well, I guess it could happen.

Thinking and listening to the latest albums lyrics (song by Duvdev). It seems to me that Duvdev is in a lot of agony, intense feelings of suffering; acute mental or physical pain .. suffering with a lot of inner problems like self confidence. When a horse is in agony/pain and it can’t be heeled, what do you do?

Saw them 2 times and it was much more live than you'll ever manage. I'm not sure how much lower can you go from here. Checking other people's wallet. That has to be a new low point even for you.

If you for one second could look away from your eternal hatred toward me and your patriotism when it come to israeli music then I will tell you that the last 2 times they played in Denmark it was far from being live. Maybe they just don't dare to put a CD on in Israel in fear of being branded as fake live there 
I fail to see why it is low to mention their way too high fee when we look at the fact that they do not play live and by that do not live up to what they were hired to do. At least not when they visit Denmark!
Now you are welcome to call me various names and brand me as a Anti-semetic etc. as you always seem to fall back on when I write something you dont like or agree with.

I know djs that charge about the same amounts, if not even more. all THEY do are spinning records for about 1-2 hours. Besides that, if you book IM for a party, its because you know they are going to drag a lot of people to that party.
I believe the root of all this is envy. I am not saying that I am a big fan of IM's recent music, though!
Another thing is labels that they are bound to...
Here is an example of a dj (Which I wont name, because its none of anyones bussiness what people earn imo).
DJ A Gets booked in Greece, DJ A costs the organizer 30.000 Euros (And this is a fact, I know the organizer, and I know the booking agency), DJ A gets 10.000 Euros plus flight. NOW, where did the rest of the 30.000 euros go? Well go figure |

anyway,
They have a guitar player, Duvdev sings and does something with the Dj mixing table. Erez plays the piano/synth with a talent and he also turns the knobs on the mixing table. What else should they do to be even more "live" at their shows? Do magic tricks? Juggle with four balls on fire? Play the trombone? .. I guess they are more live then many other ,,trance” acts. But what counts, what really counts. Is the music. And we all know which music brings a big crowd.

Why does how they perform have anything to do with how much they can charge? I'm not certain a promoter would charge any less if IM were not playing completly live. Promotion has always been one of the purest forms of capitalism - it is just supply & demand. If IM couldnt charge $20k - then they wouldnt - but they can - so they do!
(BTW I've never been an IM fan - I gave away my copy of classical mushroom & when I saw them at Sonica in 2005 I was bemused as to why they were so popular - it was just IMHO very poor - but if people want to see them - why shouldnt they charge what they are worth?) |

Racisism to me is to lock down at someone because of:
1. skin color
2. nationality
3. religion
4. sexuality
etc.
Critisism of a bands music, attitude, greed etc. etc. is NOT racism.
