I listened the new tracks of IM and it is a really shit! I can't believe how a legend of psytrance is now doing this shit. Example: Becoming Insane. Plz, Duvdev, go to a singers academy and form a rock band. I can't believe it!!!

i agree with the point that if you dont like them dont listen to them, simple...if the music sounds sh*t to you, then dont support the band. however, to tell someone that they cannot criticise an artist because they dont like their music is ridiculous....this is an internet forum! the main reason for this forum is to discuss psytrance and related dance music issues. It is a place where people can show thier opinions, whether they be positive or negative.
I agree with Yonkie, their new material is even worse that IM the supervisor, and that was pretty shite! too much (bad) vocal content, too much guitar and too much ego in their music. however, i can definately appreciate the success these guys have created for themselves. They have emerged from an underground scene to become one of the biggest dance music names in the world. i applaud that......but still shite music imo.  |

Infected infected infected. I just listened to the new Becoming Insane track, and must say that it's embarrassing. It's such a (being subjective) bad bad track. But when I was 14/15 years old and didn't know better. I would freak out, because it is different. It's not the mainstream dance, hip-pop and pop-rock that most people out there know about. And to be a new individual to experimental music, this track would kick some serious ass. It's exiting, different and fun.
It's strange to think about how IM, Shiva Shipadu used to sound, how intense and trippy their tracks used to be. So more advance (from my perspective), so much more pure intelligence. Now they sound all .. strange in the bad way. Pop music for the people who is growing tired of.. pop music. I wish they had the courtesy to change their name. It's such a beautiful and powerful name, Infected Mushroom. Mushroom, magic mushroom. Erez, come back to us. Take another mushroom trip.

Everything about art is subjective. In my opinion, the new IM sound is fun to listen to, it gives me a nice feeling and the production and sounds are verry high quality. I think spytooned psytones said it the best, people who are new to experimental music will find Infected Mushroom verry interesting and exciting. They have sort of become a band like what Daft Punk are, if you get what I mean. But for people who listen to alot of experimental and challeging music, you have heard it a zillion times before and know what to expect.

Ahah... that's the way of the most FullOn artists.... i say, they make musics to bring more people to listen it... and consequently sell their tracks...
Infected Mushroom played in my city 5 times in two years.... yes... 5 times... 3 times in one year, and two in the other... and for me, it's just one more show like U2 or Rage Agains the Machine... just volcals and guitar... 
I really think their time of PsyTrance style is off a long time ago... as i said, they are making music to sell it and to live a life like the big stars from Rock are living, the probability of their come back to the real PsyTrance is totaly off... unhappy...

I just read in a site that they said in an interview that they are NOT doing psychedelic anymore. Well, they never did anyway, IMHO.

"thats the way of MOST fullon artists"....i think not...they are now one of the most popular dance music acts in the WORLD...not just the psy scene but the world. their booking fees are now similar to that of CArl Cox, Deep Dish etc....these guys have been the biggest names of the dance scene for many years! you cant compare many other acts with IM....for instance, sesto sento are one of the biggest fullon names in the psy scene, but ask anyone who is not involved in the psy scene and tey will have no clue who they are.

i agree. but im sure if you asked them they would agree they are no longer writing psychedelic music. sure, they write dance music, they write music around the 145bpm zone, they play at psytrance festivals....but imo, they sure as fu*k dont write psytrance. however, this is my opinion, just as it is yours....to others they may be psychedelic...there is no exact defination for psytrance, it is how one percieves something to be psychedelic that defines the music as psy ot not.

my 2 cents on this one :
well i think IM havent made a decent psychadelic album since classical mushroom. expect maybe the other side of converting which is amazing but not trance.
the way is see it,
production took over psychadelic.
they do have one of the best productions in the world, but it came on the expence of the psy side of things. now it`s just high quality amazingly produced poptrance. same as all succsesful pop music. well produced shit .
i`d realy like to hear them do the gathering with their currnet production. it could be amazing. not that it isnt amazing as it is.
on the other hand you can understand them, wanting to apply to bigger crowds and becoming more mainstream oriented.
i guess their doing a good job at that, aren`t they?
maybe this is all due to a serious lack of mooshies? 
someone please feed them some mooshies... ha ha
