Holy Sheeeet....
If ya check out page 29 of todays (Thursday Dec 2nd) copy of the London Metro paper... you will see a huge picture of Astrix and a write up advertising this party.....
..... I guess Psy Trance has come a long way from its humble beginings to a quater page ad in the Capitals Newspaper!!!!
..Dunno if If this is a good thing or a bad thing for the PsyTrance scene (im sure you all have your opinions)... but it seems a hell of a long way from the days of 'CAll THIS NUMBER AFTER 10PM' type of flyers

..well.......as Bob Dylan sang...........'the times they are a changing'.....           ---------------------------------------------

Jeez Louise

This is what I hate asbout Antiworld....they create the wrong sort of publicity - I am hugely on promoting an essentially small scene, but when Paradise City 001 gets advertised in the local giveaway paper as a massive rave party....when Infected Mushroom are mentioned only because of their laser shows...I think my moan is justified - IMHO....money making....not scene creating.....

about as wicked as a right hook from Lennox Lewis....

If these guys were supporting the scene, should they not be promoting up and coming artists, rather than acts who have publicly said that they are thinking of leaving trance behind....

how else would u promote a 7000!!! ppl party. just a listing in accessallareas and psy forum? common... u have to give them credit for having the balls 2 throw a show this big. i think its good there's a variety or different styles of parties from squat, club, outdoor and one off big ones like this. And at the end of the day, the promoter is intitled to making some money, all the efforts for nothing would be a bit shite. 2ndly the tickets were 30 quid to start, so if u wait last min then u pay more. I think this party will open gateways to ppl unfimiliar with this music, we dont wanna see the scene die do we? If you dont like these parties then dont go, we are spoiled here in london for choice of parties. just my opinion...

I saw this advertised and you are right - decided not to go...

I personally would not pay £30 (or £45) for what would amount to 7-10 hours of electronic music - I paid £60 for a ticket to Boom Festival and that was 5 days long...

And to have it advertised as a RAVE - if you read my initial post, that is why for me it is the wrong sort of publicicty and excuse me if I am not going to go and dance among the glow sticks and white gloves....

very fair point Greg, in London we're lucky to have all varieties of parties and you can choose. No one is gonna force you to go anywhere you dont essbee so i dont know why you come into forums such as these always giving out bad vibes to parties you deem too commercial for your presence.

Incidentally you always seem to be expressing your outspoken views in forums about how parties should be promoted and how the scene should be run. What exactly is it you do again ? Which parties do you organise ? you have so much to contribute you should help put something on and show us all how its properly done.

So much for that ey? lolol

As for the party it will be a good party as it isnt just psytrance, is it comercial? yes does it cost alot to get in? yes will this affect the 'scene'? maybe, but who cares? their will always be small and big parties, IMO as long as your having fun it doesnt really matter were.           "Great things are only possible with outrageous requests." Hey Brandski

Nice of you to have a dig like that - I am in IT recruitment actually...et toi?

I always thought the opinion of a punter was a valid one...

and I think I have only ever come in here and been outspoken perhaps once or twice before about publicity and Antiworld....all other parties I have nothing against...I have had some shit things happen to me at these parties - robbed - searched in a private room - thought I was dealing when I gave a friend some chewing gum....so I stopped going two or three years ago...maybe not justified to bear a grudge like this, but the bigger the party gets, the more unsavoury people it attracts, just personal experience across any genre of music or style - not just psytrance...

I just did not like ever and still don't the word...rave... It does not embody what I think this scene is about...that's all..
and another point - I belong to this forum and Tranceculture - so for you to say I am always coming on to forums like these expressing my outspoken views is a little heavy handed.

I have helped promote parties in Australia, but have a job which demands a lot of my time and enjoy the lack of stress of not organising them...

What I have to contribute to this scene now is my money as a punter....isn't that something that keeps it alive?

I still stand by my view that what is being promoted this weekend is a rock concert with big name acts -
Look at Symbiosis last month with EVP and Deviant Species - fantastic....

nice venue, the place was great, loots of room to dance, amezing deco.music-i really enjoy kristian seet,at the electronic stage,MR SUZUKI impreesd me once more with his skills,i didnt like infected at all, they really change, but the production still amezing, the best music at the the trance stage GMS,really ignored on the flayer, like another warm up act for the venue, graet production, and the new track's are mind blowing, for sure the best formula on the dance floor.
around 4000-4500 ppl.

i agree, dahli was nice to see, a bit chemical crew type sound, astrix wasnt special nor infected, seeing duvdev singing was a bit of a piss take. GMS blew me away, combining there new traks with a few classics was wicked. Lots of room 2 dance, and and an overall good vibe all night...
