they are playing at a massive commerical rave called cyberfest. Perhaps the largest most commercial electronic music event in the us.
my advice, dont waste your time or $45 on this one....

i agree with paradigm here. cyberfest is thrown by coolworld productions who are a very shady group of people that have thrown several very shitty overpriced and under par massive raves here in Texas and they do these same kinds of parties all over the US... as far as I know, this is the first time ever that they have booked a psytrance artist and they have put them alongside Keoki and Mars amongst others... They are simply throwing infected on the bill because they think it will bring in more people that wouldn't come otherwise... which I understand as a business move, but which disgusts me as a lover of psytrance...

I agree with both paradigm and thegooddale. I went to one Cyberfest two years ago. It wasn't that good at all and I felt cheated out of my money.

I love Infected, but I do not like the events Coolworld puts on. I'll wait until their next tour, thanks...

Well, hopefully IM will provide a clear contrast to all the other music being played that night, and show some of the younger crowd that there is stuff going on other than Moonshine Records....

Most people only listen to commercial techno because they aren't aware there's anything else out there. And let's face it, there's a LOT of stuff to sift through out there- That's how it was with me... I knew there was something about electronic music I liked, but I had to listen to a lot of crap before I found something I liked.

While you couldn't even pay me to attend this party, I'm glad IM is playing there... if even a handfull of candy kids are blown away & converted, it will be worth it. Stuff like this is whats going to be neccesary in regards to that other "North American Psytrance Growth" thread.

Maybe a few of the kids @ Coolworld this year will be @ Gil's birthday next year...

I agree with Aeon, however there has to be a better system for converting commercial ravers to better music, rather than depending on whoever happens to be a "best seller" to be booked at a massive to inspire young candy kids

I use to play goa/psytrance at raves around L.A. from 99-01, and I'll tell ya-- either they liked it or they didn't
