I don't want to drag this thread on longer than it deserves, but I have to post one final word. Based on the flyer I saw for this, I'm changing my position and will not be going. By the looks of the flyer itself (glossy club trance style), this event (I can't even call it a party) has nothing to do with what I'm into. Whether IM intend for their direction to change this way is another topic altogether, but really, I wouldn't be surprised to see Oakenfold in the lineup the same night.
But again, maybe they just want a solid gig and haven't had success with that with the psytrance scene.
but anyway, yeah. fuck it ! |

If you don't want to come don't come.
Infected will rock the place, I used to go to the fucking TIKI ROOM in Pomona(2hours drive) for a trance party, so I am sure the Arena can't be worse. If I won't like it I will leave its only 20 dollars.
If you like infected's music come and enjoy the number one trance act in the world, if not stay home.

Rich - It is a surprise to me how quickly you changed your position from an open minded person to a close minded person - and all based on the look of a flyer.
Infected Mushroom does NOT design event flyers nor do they say how they want them to look - it is the promoter's job.
Remember that the promoter's job is to get as many people to the show as possible.
Infected Mushroom's job is to make sure all those people become trance addicts! It is my assumption that Infected Mushroom are doing a great job.
Why don't you go to the party - see how they play - see the vibe - see the people - then judge?
Infected Mushroom has played in SF last year - Ask anyone you know about this party - and they will tell you it rocked! if you find 1 person who sais otherwise - you might have a point.
So if you are so opinionated as to the way you want Infected to go - do Infected Mushroom a favor, go to their show - see for yourself that you were wrong in your assumption - then give them back the credit they deserved!

IDaN: I used to drive one hour to the Tiki Room to see Infected and had an awesome time. Maybe one of the best times ever at a Party, but I'm still not going to this one.
Ari_S: Based on the promoter, you know what type of atmosphere it will be + the promoters job is to advertise to the people who understand what he is promoting not to just bring in as many heads as possible. In doing so, you lose the peace and understanding that comes from "our" music. You don't see Puff Daddy going to Metallica concerts to promote for his concert do you?
Also, the Arena is not a very warm "psytrance" type place in my opinion. It is what I got into trance to avoid.
Also, because Rich changed his opinion doesn't mean he is closed minded. He knows what appeals to him and what doesn't through trial and error, just like you know it's going to be awesome because it is Infected (open minded?), seeing them at the Arena. Actually, you should applaud him for speaking "openly" about changing his opinion. To me, that's an admirable trait. |

I think you are getting the impression that this is a criticism on Infected Mushroom?
I can assure you that it is not. IM deserves much respect and both Uncle Bob and I have gone to almost every party they played here in LA including the Tiki Room and the two or three parties that were broken up.
We were born and raised in LA and maybe that is why we have a not so great impression about the club, the promoters who are throwing the party and the people who usually attend the Arena.
Some people are just realizing that this is definitely not going to be a "typical" psytrance party and are changing their minds about going but I think it is an exageration to consider them close minded. As a matter of fact, Rich is far from being close minded.
So peace out everyone  and I think I've almost convinced Uncle Bob to go to the world famous Hollywood Arena and check out the even more world famous IM...let's go Uncle...I'll keep all the mainstream house music away from you

I would ask the people involved in the knife fight at that party, and those in the room. I think that sais it all.

I had some great times in the TIKI Room too, but I also had some really bad experiances there also.
Tommorow is the day, the #1 PSY group in the world is about to rock Los-Angeles again!

how was it? lots of people there? i could not make it as always 21 and over parties!  it does not bother me anymore cause i m closer than ever to turn 21 just one more year. hey andrea its nice to see you posting again hopefully i'll see you next saturday at ticon's party if it's not 21 again.
