Just joined the forum and was kind of surprised to see no mention of Indian Ocean!

They are a fusion/ethno-rock band from India. Wide variety of music - some really mellow, dark stuff and some really upbeat stuff.

Their website is http://www.indianoceanmusic.com. It seems to be down right now, but one can still access some of their clips at http://www.indianoceanmusic.com/site/clips/

Their stuff is also on eMusic http://www.emusic.com/artist/11590/11590693.html (Disregard the bio, it's not related to them at all)

I'm sure you can find their stuff on some file sharing networks, too.

They have interpretations of their lyrics on their site, but since it seems down, they can be accessed from Google's Cache http://www.google.com/search?q=lyrics+site%3Aindianoceanmusic.com

Some of my favourite tracks -
Darker: Bandeh, From the Ruins, Brisk Lonely Walk, Kaun
More upbeat: Hille Le, Boll Weevil, Jhini, Des Mera, Going to ITO

Let me know what you guys think.

I used to listen to 'kandisa' in my college days.

I think i even saw them perform live once, dont quiterememer.. i guesss it was the 'great indian rock' show.

there was also another band called bombay black playing fusion at the time, not sure what happened of them. http://www.sudeepaudio.com/profiles.php?aid=224

It's time to move on to the next step in the psychedelic revolution. We've reached a certain point, but we're not moving any more.

what of Orange Street they used to also play some nice tunes ..one of ma favs was " Joint Family " ......           Being, a bundle of minute, unique particulars in which, by some unspeakable and yet self-evident paradox, was to be seen the divine source of all existence.
