i don't know how it should be... but my inbox isn't really sorted.
imho it sould be sorted by recieve date-decending.
this is an example of how it is sorted at my inbox:
top: 2003-06-27 13:41 (not including arafela urgent msgs)
middle: 2002-12-25 12:33
and right after it: 2003-05-31 14:15
and in the end: 2003-05-08 08:58
i don't know if it's a bug or not though

if you click where it says "received" it will be sorted by date
