Inaccurate metering with Sonalksis SV315-MKII compressor?

I'm having an issue with the Sonalksis compressor (v3).

The issue I'm having is that the output meter of the compressor does not seem to be accurate. It might read the output is at -6dB, but if I place an analyzer directly after the compressor insert it may tell me that the signal coming into it is +3dB and clipping!

I find this really odd, because when I use another compressor the output meter is identical to what the analyzer is telling me.

I also tend to find that once I use the SV-315 (with auto-gain enabled, but a modest 3 - 6dB of gain reduction) I really have to pull down my channel's fader or the plug's output by quite a lot (sometimes up to 10dB) to get it to sit nicely in the mix.

Another issue I seem to have is also with the limiter. I can set to Fast and have the threshold at -12dB. The plug's meter will show limiting at exactly -12dB, but my channel strip or analyzer plug-in will show it to be exceeding that by a fair bit. It's a bit odd to say the least.

I'm wondering if this is normal or if it's an issue other people have had?
