So how about glass sounds...? Both pad, rhythmical sounds, and melodic ones.... How do you bring out that crispy clear crystal sound? I've tried sampling actual glass (hits, rubs, whatever), ringmodulation until my ears rang, and such... Nothing seems to work properly though :-|

Thanks in advance

the best 'glass' like synthetic sounds i've heared were subtle fm sounds.,
just don't ask how to make them, i've never tried.,

you prolly need more advanced fm than most virtual analog synths can offer., try DX emulations.,

thinking about it, glass can sound in many many different ways so it's difficult to say anything constructive., maybe that it sometimes sounds triangle wave-ish.,

I don't really know which sound you are looking for but if you don't have crystal synth try it.
it have many pads including glass like sounds and it's a freeware synth.

There's a great quality samples for glass and such sounds, you maybe need to search a bit more.

of course you'll need to do more work after cuting it but i believe that's the best way to get the real sound.

I have some quality glass samples, maybe they're too big in size but send me a mail or something and i will reply to you with some of them,

Two more that could help you are Absynth 2 and FM7.

Both come with some "glassy" presets.

Andreas - it seems you have to give up all of your hardware synths and start working with soft-synths instead!

Regarding the topic - hmm... i really don't have a clue...are you working on a Mac? If not, have a look at the Absynth as EYB mentioned...it might be useful.

Thanks guys, I have to look around for softsynths, I guess... Hm.

Yes, I work on mac, and already have absynth - no goodies there, I'm afraid. I would really like synthesis instead of samples... More tweakable

But maybe I'll get back to you Input, thanks

Oh yeah, I'll try some FM stuff!

- Thanks again and Lars, I don't WHAT they say, but I haven't had a shower today, and don't feel particularly beatiful
