Unfortunately i didn't had many ppl to help me so i had to learn everything (almost) by myself.
My patience is too short for tutorials and guides.
All i can say just get the tools and start the knobbing.
OOps and i forgot to mention that i had (and stiil have) very good knowledge in Electronics which van be very useful with this kind of music.
Luck is very big factor i think and good creative mood.

this forum
I'm still a beginner, but all i can say is that in this forum u can ask questions & get answers, wich is very important thing.
& a long expirience with impulse tracker 2.15 as a kid, also helped me alot.
read questions & answers & u can learn alot.

the main thing my friend is to know that this is something you wanna get good at. at start its hard to work over 1 hour but with practice you can learn how to work better and faster. I myslef work now between 6 to 10 hours a day!
one thing that really push me forward is people.
visit other djs, musicain, sound engineers to get some tips, samples, ideas..
good luck dude!

when i started i didnt really have internet or any friends who produced, so i learnt purely on my own - very slow and frustrating
a bit later on the internet helped me out, but i have to say it was drumnbass sites that really helped - in particular the community reviews section of dnbscene.com, "the grid" production forum at dogsonacid.com and the producers mailing list from breakbeat.co.uk. they just seem to have more visitors+traffic than any psy production forum i've found, and thus there is more posted to learn from.... simple numbers game really
lately i'm lucky enough to live with other producers so these days most of my learning is from my housemates
