Most people I know that are into the scene for a considerable amount of time show great animosity towards the people that recently discovered trance. In special, related to "PLUR" (trash in the parties, no respect, not fitting in) and because the "out-groups" are there just for the fun-of-it and not for the music and for the spirit.

I understand both sides and I decided to abolish prejudice, as far as I am concerned, in the events. The fact is that I get very pissed of when I see people disrespecting the scene, but I feel the same way towards the "private parties" and the "goa-trancers" that dont even get close to the crowd because they feel "spiritually" different.

I think both groups need to be more respectful and more open-minded in order to have no "segregation" in the trance parties, as it often happens. What do you think? In which side are you?

Here in Brazil, for example, there is also segregation with respect to sex. Sometimes women pay less to enter the parties... It is good because it brings more women, but I also think it is unfair to the men... Ah, I dont know...

(This topic has relation to "the importance of the crowd" but I think it would be too offtopic to post it there)           cna't find it

If the ingroup won't share and teach the outgroup the experience, it will die.

In fact, it is dying....           ---------------------------------------------

Do you think the trance scene works still with P.L.U.R. (Peace Love Unity Respect)?

Cosma: It was like this but not anymore. I don’t think you can say today that the trance scene is underground. For sure and I’m happy for this that there are still underground parties all over the world but locally the trance become commercial. Good people with a very good vibes start with P.L.U.R, they still with us but there is big part of people that only herding the scene and the good people!

what do you mean exactly by out/in groups?
about people coming for the fun of it, that's cool too. but i have some reservations aout this, which i wrote in the other thread.
to tell you the truth, i think this thread is really like the other thread
but you do have a few points here, there is really a segregation in parties. the way i see it, it's the ravers vs. the karahanas something like the people who discovered trance here and developed their love in big raves or festivals vs. the india travellers or south-america.
usually, i think the "karahanas", when their hearts are into dancing, they're really into it, showing it off to the world. the ravers i came across, seem more relaxed, but are party people to the bone, coming to parties every other week.
i guess i love seeing karahanas at parties (cause i also travelled a bit), but usually they're more spoiled and just sit around smoking their chillum and don't really jump to the tunes (though they are the organisers usually, here).
the ravers, are the ones i'd see coming prepared with tents, they seem docile, but they can party
usually, these people tend to be the progressive lovers i think (to karahanas i'd contribute fullon/psy).
but all of this is from my encounters with people at parties. and from what i see usually (which are people from this forum ) most here are the ravers type. though there are those who combine both.
i enjoy seeing both "types" as long as they add color and vibe to the party. hardcore trancers are always fun to have beside you           Super-teen extraordinaire Freakazoid! Freakazoid!

and here we come to my old thread "why party org/dj/ingroup ppl dont dance and have fun at parties". i just think most of the ppl that deal with trance parties just forgot why they do it, i mean they dont enjoy it, make it coze that a only thing they can do..
when ingroup mostly realy cold to outgroup and seems not so enjoy what happen around no way outgroup will be a positive one.           Believe your soul !

about teaching the younger generation, well, i like hearing about very young people who discovered trance. but i can't say i usually enjoy seeing children at parties.
the exceptions are those i know love trance. i must say i did love it a whole lot more when it was a bit more hush hush, and people thought trancers were crazy bastards or drug addicts, it gave a certain charm to the experience, to know you are a part of something unique (i didn't have that for long, some people here had it a whole lot longer, and would attest to it better). now it is so commercial, and i guess seeing so many newbies in the parties just makes me realize we're not special anymore, people found out about our magical refuge from the world, and they want a piece of the pie, too. and i know everyone deserve to have this fun. but alas, it takes away some of our peace of the pie. damn, i am an elitist           Super-teen extraordinaire Freakazoid! Hi everyone. Good points you all raise.
I think this whole in and outgroups thing does happen and it drives me insane. The vast majority of people in psy are respectful and friendly to you no matter who you are, what you look like and how you act. Everyone is there to enjoy themselves, whether it be spiritually, mentally, physically or emotionally. Why should it ever be overanalysed or people get pigeon-holed into categories? People who look down on you or not as one of them make me sad. It's happened to me on rare occasions when I have met people higher up in the party 'pecking order' and they won't give me the time of day because I may not be 'underground' or 'hardcore' enough. But as I said, this is rare, very rare, but as this is a topic of this conversation even on the other side of the world, it must be an attitude that some of us have seen.
I've been partying for a long time and couldn't care less who was at the party, as long as they were contributing to the spirit and energy that party creates.
I do enjoy more underground parties as well as the larger ones for what they are, not what they offer my ego, and after years of battling this I've found a very nice place where I couldn't be stuffed letting anything else bother me any more apart from the music and dancing. That's why I started in the first place.

I would be with Barney....

DO YOU GUYS ALWAYS THINK SO FAR WHEN YOU'RE ON THE DANCE-FLOOR ??

I mean when i'm ON the music, I really don't care knowing if the people around me are 'In' or 'Out' freakers.... no offence but this is bullshit !

"Errf this one wears some flashy red trousers.... what does it mean ?? ...Why ??"

Come On ! If this guys smiles, I'll smile to him.... If he doesn't.... it is his bizness if he doesn't like the party !

If someone wants to speak with me, I'll answer... If he wants to ignore me, I won't run after him all night long..

The quality of a party his a subjective opinion, it's up to YOU to have fun or not.... nobody else can help for this.

Last point : there are many "VS" topics these days..... is it because of the current events on the globe ??
I fell in love with Psychedelic Trance Parties because there were absolutely no "Versus" feelings inside... why should we put some then ?

Regards.           .

In a way, I really envy the people who are just discovering trance. The discovery of new things in the trance world is just great. Personally, I'm not a heavy party-goer anymore (I don't go to clubs, and not to most outdoor events), but I really think the division between "new" and "old" trancers is wrong. The real division in parties is between people who give a good vibe and the others.

If someone is having fun, smiling and saying "good morning" to you, no matter what his age, how he looks like, whatever... his good vibes will show. If someone is out there puking his guts out due to whatever, pushing people away on the dancefloor, and generally sending out a "stay away from me" vibe, he ruins the party for everyone. Old trancers tend to be a lot more on the good vibe side of things, that's the only reason someone would make a mistake like that.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

IMO what we can do is give the example with positive attitude, always showing education and respect.
