I would be curious what shop you found the BM6A for $900 cheaper than in the EU?

When I compare for example turnkey and sweetwater.com it's about $300 difference for a pair.
If you happen to have to pay overweight or import tax it will work out more expensive and I wouldn't bother.

Well I just purchased a pair of BM6A mkI for EXACTLY 1135 euros including shipping (1505 USD) to my sister's place in LA.

Now I couldn't find a store that would sell me both for less than 1900 € so I guess the difference is more like 750€ and not 900€.

Ok well now that phase one is complete, I must concentrate on phase 2 and hope I can lug around 63.8 lbs on a plane without any hassles. Anyone know what the max is before I start to get raped?

I forgot to mention that I guess this is only possible due to the fact that the dollar is shamefully weak, which is bad for us living in the EU, unless we choose to take advantage of it

Nice deal! I bought mine for 1226 euros from france last year (switzerland has only 7.6% VAT)

You can check-in up to 25-30 kilos depending on the airline & ticket. So if you don't have too much luggage you should manage without any overweight charges..

I did the same in 2003, I got my first pair of studio monitor. and I bought them in the state.

They did cost much less then here in the uk or the rest of europe for that matter.

I got rid of the box cause i did not want to pass at heathrow airport through custom with a big box with the brand written all over it. I'd probably be stopped otherwise. In fact many people got stopped right in front of me that day but i went through normaly.

I put the speakers in a delsey hard shell luggage, extremely well packed(I used bubble wrapping paper) with very few clothe.

What are the issues with customs and the generally nazi like US customs policies about bringing professional hardware? Any issues regarding that?

its not the us custom you should worry about since you bring the stuff in the EU.

I know I will have to buy a different fuse, anyone know where I can find them? Will just any fuse do?

You need to get a stepdown transformer. or you will burn your monitors internal transformer.

A rhetorical question, how come Danish made speakers are more expensive in the EU (and Danemark) by such a big amount compared to the US

I don't know which make you're talkin about, but if its the case its probably because they have a factory in the us and they don't pay import tax. us made product cost usually less than eu made ones
