hello every1
i have qusetion about the bpm counter in the mixers (Pioneer djm600 etc...)
let`s say that i play a progressive trance track for example which is orginally (139.9)
BPM the will the BPM counter show me 139.9
or it will start moving from 139.5 to 140.5
i don`t talk about the breaks i m talking about the time that there are beats

I think the bpm counter sucks You really have no use of it, no need. After a while you hear the difference instead.

Don´t throw your money on a mixer with the bpm counter when you can get a good mixer cheeper whitout it. Thats my meaning, feel free to argue against.

Cheers!

unless the tracks itself has BPM change like some hallucinogen tracks... BPM should stay constant.

are you playing an original version? if youre playing something that's cut from a set for example, then maybe that dj increased the BPM midway through the track before mixing into the next.           "On the other hand, you have different fingers."

the mixers like pioneer djm600 and many others dont show the real bpm of the track, what you see is one more bpm than the real one. So if you want to avoid confusion...dont use the counter.           myspace.com/trashdealers

2 questions
1) lets say that i am playing with cd100 a 140 Bpm track will the djm600 display 140 BPM right?
2) let`s say that i count on the BPM counter will i be able to play with beat matching for 4 beats without the tracks will starting "running form each other"?

use the counter just to give you a "direction" to what aproximate speed you have to adjust the track. The precise beatmixing is done with the ears.

2Dimitry : The DJM is a very good mixer for psy and it works well with Turbo Sound ))           http://www.myspace.com/vectroelectro

first i don't think that the producers write music at 139.9bpm
the cdj1000 shows the right bpm,
there most of the mixers shows 2 bpm down of the real, but sometimes get crazy when the track has strange base and boot
it's good to have mixer with bpm counter for the start,
it'll helps you a lot,
good luck Dj anubi
