Dear forum members,
It's no secret that in the last couple of years the forum has stagnated and even deteriorated, for the Isratrance website this has been going on for a much longer time. The main reason for that was that although there were still people who worked very hard voluntarily to keep this place alive, the core of the Isratrance team could no longer afford to spend so much time on it as it used to. We have progressed in our lives, we have jobs that take most of our time, families, some of us are no longer hardcore trancers, etc. We failed to find people that will take our place.
The time came awhile ago when we had to decide what are we to do with this forum & website. Do we close it or do we evolve it? To keep it like it is, when we're paying from our own pockets for something that goes nowhere, was not an option.
After much discussion we decided to try and keep the forum & site alive. This means that we will have to make a lot of changes to develop it and make it a better place and one that fits the new Internet era. For this to happen we need to invest some money in it, money we can no longer afford to pay out of our own pockets. So we must have the site generate some income to support its development. We decided to do two things for now. One is to start google ads for people who don't log in (this is already at work) and the other to start a banner system.
The money generated will go towards developing the site: first of all, getting a dedicated server for it (no more crashing, no more data problems, no more begging for space and not more paying money to store it); Second, paying people to develop, design and run the site so it looks, works and run better.
Some of the changes you can already notice, some are behind the scenes, and a lot more are being worked on by our team and you'll start feeling them very soon.
So this is just to update you on the changes coming and the new road we've taken.
