From the first post i can deduce that Speedsound release every possible track and now they open their eyes that label need to have strategy and business plan.
Exactly my thoughts too, I think that's the problem with small labels, they release anything that come in their hands.
This is actual result of it, bunch of stuff that shouldn't be out there in first place and semi decent stuff that need more work and development.

All new entries must be pre-approved by our distributor
hey, but it indeed sounds pretty nasty. pre-approved by distributor. wtf? one good honest guy Speedsound loves music and put a lot of efforts into gathering a compilation of just 9 or 10 trance tunes to expose to the world. paid money. this is sort of art! what pre-approvement, is this a test or what?

shit contracts and labels that have done nothing other than post them on download sites, and get control of the music again
May be good to make a list of labels friendly for musicians, who make more than post on d/l sites.
It is totally stupid that many labels don't care about promotion and then they are surprised that nobody buy music. people from other genres know that promotion is MUST BE. Bigger promotion=bigger scene.
I can't understand, do only on psy scene nobody know how to make business.
Even hardcore dnb, 10 times more heavy music is sells better, and still on vinyl!

It promises for some (big) production chains more possible money if they sell all the stuff only virtual (without a CDs or vinyl) cause the whole production-chain saves the "material" except a server...
Maybe for a lot of "poor" people these bits and bytes seems to expensive ?
Little (good) labels with good intensions of art gets a bit marginalized from the big ones...
One step further -
Most Virtual-Labels would NEVER produce CDs with ALL their contract-partners
Also we have so a lot of promoted VST, VSTi, Sample, Loops, Patches, Sample-Templates and Tutorial Producer with a lot of promises.
And accordingly a lot of modern Music-Producer and DJs who want to be soon as possible on the market...
So we meet the different kinds of intensions, ethic and commericials which produce (new music) culture...
Maybe not really balanced a this time...
- Lets think about all the low budget people in the world who are minded to pay for their virtual music -
My last bought was DIRECT AT THE ARTIST at: protonica.bandcamp.com
0,99 EURO A SONG - That is a correct price for me as a download in the moment !! ! !!
And thats also a part of the new cultural development -
People (could) distribute (promote and) themself, maybe its needed to be a DJ to promote the sound...
The virtuell world of sound is only in the beginning...
Equal how people try to control it - A new culturerize might be needed....
And the new-thing has also started: Unsaleable pretty good freeware music will also disorder the buisness market...
Good luck and best wishes everyone...

there is no good music these days.. i have not heard any music that i would say "wow".
Tracks that are relased are boring.. I can not think of a label that release good music these days.
May be I'm too cynic and bored with psy trance.
long live gangam style

There's still great music out there. Problem is: it's harder to find, because there's simply to many stuff out there. Also agree that there's way to many labels out there, and that few of them can be thought of as real business - with some quality standards and promotion. It's a very sad fact that, indeed, lack of professionalism is a trademark of our scene. To grasp this, all it takes is some random look at the covers out there, on most releases and the insane number of labels that - I dare say - have never done anything, whatsoever, to promote their signed (if this even applies imo) artists...
Some people here mentioned that there's a market for ready-to-use samples and presets, tuturials and even costumized per genre tracks for some daws out there. It's true that there's a lot of people who fancy the idea of being a producer or a dj but are not so keen of spending the amount of time necessary for learning what it takes to get there, some clever people make money selling this "shortcuts" - but I guess fools will be fools no matter what.
I think there's no problem that some people are selling that kind of stuff. Money is hard to get on this business and it's honest work, in the sense that you get what you pay for. The sad fact is that under quality stuff is continually being presented next to the artists that put a lot of work into their productions. So yeah, quality control is A MUST. If you take a look at what goes on with other genres, like Dubstep, the kind of promotion and the quality of the covers (not judging the style here) should give anyone enough fuel for thought on these matters. We suck at it, as a whole. And even our parties, most of them at least, misrepresent this genre in such sad ways that we can't really blame the public to not show more interest.
Labels and party organizers should be judged for the kind of products they put out there. And more efforts should be made to bring more professionalism and a new face to this scene.

Of course. Peolpe should sell and buy whats good and needed to live life.
Too make my last post in this topic short:
Thousands of years we needed an instrument to hear music... Call a band on stage or play the music self...
Then gramophone, vinyl, magnet-tape, CDs... Now it possible to have it all virtual...
The virtual music world is very young. Since 2000 ?
Internet is almost everywhere and for music no instrument or midi is needed. Bits and bytes everywhere.
Also in the money exchange...
This is a young thing and it happend very fast... With a lot of people who want to be on that market...
And as it ever was: First come, first served.
Its a state of mind to control it or cuturerize it...
Controller or Culturerizer - A lot of work...
