I know that all you here have your favorite producers and styles that you like. If you could spend a month with any particular producer learning from them, who would they be? Go ahead and list 3 or 4 and why/what you wanted to learn from them...
1. I would kill to learn from the Aahrus Crew (G.o.W.,Metaloids) I really enjoy their crazy soundscapes and refusal to be stuck in one pattern of music making. (Atmospheric Weirdness)
2. Neuromotor. Fred's music has so much power, energy and emotion, not to mention his basslines have a great deal of force to them. (Bassline Punch)
3. Authentik. I loved these guys crunchy basslines and gritty percussion. I normally don't like most minimal stuff, but I really dig the overall feel of their stuff. (Percussion Madness)

1. Simon P, cause he's simply the best. I can ussually figure out how most artists acheive their sounds... Yet a lot of Posfords work is still beyond me. Especially the depth of his tracks.
...After that, there would be no point to 'learn' from anyone else. But I would like to hang with Cosmosis just for fun. |

3. Ott, cause he's Ott.

1. Goblin and Schatsi of Psysex. from the little they did show me... i was amazed. best of all - its in hebrew... worst of all - its logic and im using cubase. nevertheless the knowledge these 2 posses is ridiculous.
2. Johannes of Silicon Sound. again i only sat with him for 2-3 days, but what he has shown me regarding simplicity of things and equalizing is priceless.
3. Junya Eskimo. took 2 looks at my studio and told me its placed at the worst place. I took his suggestion and changed its location and everything sounds much better. this guy is fluent in every production software possible and his skills are both musically and engineering wise are the top notch.
4. Samy the CPU. the man that got me started, he helped me very much to start understanding how to go about and where to go with my absract ideas. Samy is a classicaly trained musician and fluent in both cubase and logic. his knowledge is a treasure.

Not surprising at all but i'll go with:
1. Simon Posford. Obviously, who wouldn't?
2. Brian Transeu, BT. Lessons on how to sound so advanturous and yet remain within the mainstream)
3. Infected Mushroom (their studio is like 5 minutes away from me, maybe i should drop a visit?)
4. Neptunes, the fresh sound of the 00's.
True innovators.
Great topic btw!
