FIY, the "If it sounds good, it is good" is a general rule and refers only to the sonic quality of the music production regardless the STYLE of music.

dont be addicted to the internet!! there is so much info on the net that its easy to use it all the time for every problem you have, but the truth is that experience is more important than "dry" knowledge, sit and make music, and dont be affraid to switch some knobs and see what it does. read manuals of tools you are using. dont spend money on toys. dont spend money at all until you think its time. no, m-audio bx8 is not a good deal. work with groups and sends! and if you dont know how, ask in the forum. good reverb is a must for todays music. good kick and bass is a must. so what if tsyoushi said in 1997 that the trance is dead, dont listen to this guy(you can listen to prana though), use samplers for samples.
i can give you some more tips but you were asking only for one. |

Actually I never thought of it this way. Its only a rule of production. OK cool.
