If u bounce a Mono signal into a Stereo file is it Mono or stereo??

I know what you're saying, and I agree that people just starting out can hear us old-timers talking about spectrum analysers and L/R graphs of whatever description, and saying how much they help us, and start trying to use those tools as a shortcut to getting good results. It doesn't work like that, of course; I prefer to think of them as tools to help (as one prominent recording engineer likes to say) "turn up your ears". However you need your ears tuned on in the first place, for them to be turned up!

This is the whole damn problem (and not just in this topic - don't worry I shalln't be obfuscating today, I'm far to busy  ).
What does it matter what its called?
Its far more important to understand what it is - then we wouldn't have people freaking out about running a mono kick on a stereo channel.

What does it matter what its called? Why don't you unlearn all the languages you know and go live in a cave and wave yours arms around every time you wish to communicate. There are a some experienced professional members here on this thread who have taken time out of their lives to share their knowledge and try and clear up a commonly misunderstood topic. What I haven't witnessed is anyone freaking out, apart from yourself of course. By name by nature hey!

We will evolve only as fast as our language evolves, that's for sure... but that doesn't mean that evolution of language is equal to evolution of precise terms. The way I see it we have to evolve understanding of existing words first. As long as we have a hard time understanding each other we don't need any more new terms. We need to learn the art of COM-UNION or as we more often call it COMMUNICATION.

it was a mono sound and now it's a double size file, but each side is 3dB lower.
that's why I wouldn't use the phrase double mono.
because it is a stereo file.
A file with 2 channels.
