I ask because in my tracks i have the kick and bass in Mono, but in one of my tracks there is a section where it goes into stereo, should i keep these on completely seperate tracks or is it fine to bounce it to a stereo track???

its a mono signal in a stereo file.

Its only stereo when there is difference between the channels.           .

the only difference between mono and double mono is rms power. double mono is twise louder.

Yes, but the kick is equally distributed between the two channels, and is therefore mono.

How many mono CD's do you own?

Try this, export you monostereo kick and put it back in the sequencer.

Now duplicate it on another track

Stereo flip the duplicate and invert its phase.

Play.

Silence. That means they are the same on each side, and to all intents and purposes are mono.

There is a pan law that will reduce each stereo channel for 3 dB when you bounce mono to stereo file. Otherwise stereo file would be much louder than original mono track.

btw, I don't understand that "mono kick & bass obsession" that's present in trance production. You can make your kick mono but in the end when you mix down the track it becomes stereo. Unless if you use mono reverb for kick or trying to reduce CPU load by using mono EQ, comp etc I don't see any reason to deal with mono kick and bass.           "It occurred to me by intuition, and music was the driving force behind that intuition. it does not become stereo

it becomes a double mono

the thing with mono bass sounds is to avoid phase cancelation.

but the rendered double mono wave is in the same phase (when there is not bug) and so it doesn't matter..

I was waiting for ur answer

but thanks everyone!!!!
it sorts out my problem....

the reason i keep my kick and bass in mono is for phase reasons, and i find it just sits better in the track when its in mono, i always had the kick and bass sounding too distant in the mix, but in mono its up front....           [[[G|L|I|T|C|H]]]
