Every year, the town I live in (HOBOKEN) - has an art and music festival. What they do is completly close off the main street of this small town and have a whole bunch of booths, with a variety of different kinds of music playing. I was thinking maybe this year I would try to get a psychedelic trance booth. I just wanted to know - what you guys think about something like this - would most trancers come to something like this? Its outdoors but on the street so ... I dont know what kind of an appeal it would have.

I think this is similar to what the SF peeps do at the annual Howeird Street Fair. http://www.howweird.org/
It is SF so it may be a little more open to freaks than Hoboken, but still, I'd say go for it. and good luck! |

I am moving to Jersey City...it will be cool to have a music festival int he next town over.

good idea, will you try to get a booth this year? i can help you with some equip (mixer, cd-j's) maybe you can play some more mainstream stuff in low volume like infected, zorba or yahel... does it cost any to make a booth?

If you can attract enough goaheads, you will make it appear more appealing. 
Peoples' opinions are very easily swayed by group behavior - I'd suggest having a core group of people that will... be an example of how to get down to goa. 
When's the festival?
If it's on a weekend that I don't have plans I would gladly offer my assistance/UV banners/dancing body.
The movement is growing!

Bummer dudes - I called up the agency in charge for setting up the whole thing - and they said they are all out of booths  - I cant believe its already full. Maybe next year. |

I would like to play Psytrance outdoors in Jersey City...but appearently Boomboxes and outdoor sound systems are ILLEGAL in Jersey City!
Maybe there are other Music Festivals around New Jersey this spring in other towns? |
