Well i finally decided to start study it, i fed up with listening and wanna play somth by my own f. self..anyway i already found a teacher but all i need from you guys is advise on what keyboard to buy? i don't need too expensive, but it should be normal (not small one), comfortable to touch/feel keyboard and i don't really care about it's abilities but i really want that the piano sound which is sintesized would be very close to original one. Thanks |

i leard playing the piano some years thanks to fast tracker, which simulated your keyboard as a piano roll. :) same like Impulse Tracker but it worked better. hehe :) later I moved to a real keyboard. I bought this sweet nice Roland JX-1 synth which has a great piano! ti was a 2nd hand, cost me only 600nis. |

You should buy a midi keyboard and connect it to your PC so you can use various soft that have piano samples inside (reason, gigasampler) etc etc
or you can buy a Steinway & sons real piano...it's really affordable if like me you earn 500 000$ a day. I bought 2. 1 near my swimming pool & one in my private jet. |

So what's the best? stand alone keyboard or connected to computer which is generating those sounds...i prefer standalone cause i don't want it to depend on computer, so what's the best guys? 10x |

Hey Shivas,
Welcome to the club..
U should decide what u wanna learn - piano or keyboard/ organ. It is not altogether the same. Piano is much more classy, harder and expensive ;-) Keyboard is not that classy, easier ( because less technique is needed ) and cheaper and... can b connected to a computer..
If u wanna study piano then look for some 2nd hand and up.. u can find one shitty piano for 400 - 1000 NIS or a good one for 10000 - 15000, and u can have a baby Grand for 25000 - he he
Or u can get yourself midi enabled synth/ organ first hand priced go between 600 - 3000 and use that. Remember the investment does worth it but depends on the questions u ask yourself ( except - Am I Serious ;-) ) such as: Will I want ( b able ) to purchase a MIDI studio or I go for a computer originated one etc..
If u want to go for MIDI studio go for a good keyboard If u go for the software/ hardware originated studio go for low budget-as-long-as-it-has-midi-connections-it's-good-enough one.
Ciao,
Yuli |

One thing about real pianos: They go out of tune and it sounds terrible! Get a MIDI one, cheaper and easier.
Is there a real piano with MIDI? They should put something below the keys that detects the note and velocity and stuff. |
