yes...good track...but they stole it all...
Papua New Guinea is made out of a huge sample stolen from "Radio Babylon" by Meat Beat Manifesto...released in 1992...that was the best dance tune ever...not the FSOL stolen bullshit...overrated...like most of their production.

For me there are some true gems among the old EYE-Q releases, especially...
Virtual Symmetry - See You
Cosmos - Java
Earth Nation - Mentality
Spicelab - Quicksand
These are some of the chilled ones back in the days when the difference between trance and psychedelic wasn't that big.

Yo Maux...mate, sorry but for me FSOL are utter geniuses, same as MBM.
I just always loved FSOL, their concept...they way the played in the nineties via videostreaming.
And overrated or not...they did inspire an enormous amount of people to start experimenting with music and video.
Rich kids with computers???
Maybe, but...they made their mark, and when they needed to explore other fields such as instrumental music, they blew me away with Amorphous Androgynous.
And if you talk about overrated...please check some of the names included in the lists of this very Thread, you and I are discussing about MBM and FSOL while other people is posting Talamasca.
BTW: Here's Radio Babylon

i hear the main melody in some techno tracks nowadays.
none can take the place of the original.

I'm kind of failing to see what exactly is stolen form that MBM track. Just watched the Youtube track and the only thing I could hear this track has in common with Papua New Guinea is the breakbeat backbone....however breakbeat is traced down to "Amen Break" record released in 1969 by Funk/Soul band The Winstons.
Watch this very educational short movie about the history of breakbeat and how it made it's way to today's music:
BTW that "Babylon" sample that keeps repeating is also taken from some other disco/soul/funk band, forgotten the name, maybe Boney M
