i want send my music to labels but the fact is when i do that they have the track and even if not realsing it they can play it...
how do u send your demo's?
which way u think is the best?
*60% from a track (time)
*add "scratches" as record
*50% from the track is mono
*more?

make a 128kbps mp3....its not good enough to play in a party but its good enough for some idiots to share a bad mix over the net.

man if you dont give wave file to label they cant see the production and stuff also if you dont want to share be sure that the labels dont share your music and they also need to play to see the crowd and if its good reaction they release thats how it works man
booom and keep it on

you can try fade in and out
that enough
if you trust the people send it by m.s.n.if they like they will send you contract than send the original wave

first of all i dont realy think that a disant label will do such thing.
and i think the best way is to make a standerd demo disk (192bit ,etc.) and send some e-mails to some labels and ask them if you could meet them at thier office , or how you can send the demo , and if you dont trust them try getting a meatting with one of thier stuff and listen to the demo together.
that what i'll do if i'll make a demo.

why you should care their playing the music?
Ofcourse they should not release it without a contract but playing it??
what for we are making the music? it's better let peoples dance your music then leave it inside your studio whatsoever.
Thats my opinion anyway-

dunno, serious artists that i deal with send me a home-mastered wave in optimal quality, so i can hear it as its should be sounds and play it in parties, check it out before i sign the contract, then after signing artist send me a 24 bit data file for studio general mastering.
whats this "sctratched" trax ? whats "fade" ? what 128 kb/sec mp3 shit ? we as label pay for music, we want to hear the best quality, impressive thing.
just talk to label before u send it, ask others about their seriously, send first 2 min sample via msn just to get the idea.
good luck.

if a label does that then it's not worth sending it to them in the first place as they would clearly be a bunch of cowboys. like with any business u have to start a working relationship based on trust. to get them interested initially I think you would be best sending high quality mixdowns (wav 16,44.1 / mp3 @ 320) to impress them as much as possible.
good luck! |

i accept but styx im talking of case like that:
as i sent u full versions with my master u have it clean and fully enjoyable/playable. can u say u never play it on party ? or even if not can u say it for all labels??
even if i trust u i cant do it for all right?
what i try to do here is find a way that music will sound ok and impresive - mp3 will kill it.
but if it will play in party - i wanna play it.
i think so far fade in/out is the best way...

well, when u want to sell dance track isnt it should be checked on a dancefloor ? for sure label djs will play this one out on a party and if the feedback will be good they might sign the track for a label.
but u can do it your way...
what i realy offer ya is get in tuch with label, became a friend, and trust your friends:)
