I have a different point, that is somehow inverse...

I just take drugs if I FULLY enjoy the sound without them.

And no preferences about E or acid, it depends on my mood, but I never do coke =P

For me some psychdelics are too strong for a party, only in little cuantities if I want to enjoy being with othe r humans. So thats why E is a better choice for parties.

Psychedelics can be much more fun in other expierences

E in the afternoon, LSD in night time and beer in the morning.
PS: I only do drugs during festivals, that is about twice a year maybe.

I still take psychedelics every now and then like once or twice a month and i smoke good weed everyday. Music is my life and my trip and i won't change the combination trips and trance because i know it works fine.

I do respect people who love music no matter what they take but i do hate ugly extacy faces in parties, i don't think that fits trance at all! I do think that if a producer takes other drugs or takes nothing at all it does effect his music because people make music with intent either to make money, or to give them a good trip, or to make them dance so it definately effects the producer in composing his music...Todays music is far away from Psychedelics of course there are exceptions but few ;(

My 2 cents

          Boom :)

have to point out many researchers and psychedelic advocates says that psychedelics are not party drugs and should not be taken under those sets and settings.

so you cant blame people who prefer other substances over psychedelics during parties.
well some can control their experience during a party or festival and take psychedelics, having a profound experience. also no one can complain about it.

i wouldnt blame change of prefered substances as a result of shitty copy paste music which psytrance is stucked in for last couple of years(my 2 cents)

I"m not saying just at partis. In general people involved in this scene do not seem to take psychedelics anymore. And I truly believe thi is the reason why the music is no longer psychedelic, but a tweaked form of club music for Israeli's on E

hmmmmm...

I think speaking in perpective of producers... Psychedelic lies in the mind not in the drugs...

Fred aka Neuromotor doesnt touch anything... and hez made some of the most twisted stuff ever for our scene.

No great genius has ever existed without some touch of madness...

sorry to ask but is it really necessary to take psychedelics to belong into the scene?

or each to their own?           ...

I don't take psychedelic substances yet I enjoy complex music very much. Since I would aim to keep my brain and body in healthy working order, avid drug consumption doesn't fit into my lifestyle. Not doing drugs doesn't adversely affect my experience of music nor does it alter my taste toward simpler music.

The real problem isn't just what kind of drugs people are taking but how much, how often, and for how long. This scene is filled with acid casualties. Sure, you can gain insight from a trip... but many people don't know when to stop and integrate that learning. Sadly, our culture is one of hedonistic excess where consumption in moderation doesn't seem all that common. But think about it this way... if a person no longer enjoys the music or the parties when they stop getting high, well... why are they really here?

You might think that the choice is between one kind of drugs and another kind of drugs but that's not the whole story... there are many of us who thoroughly enjoy the music and the parties without any need to consume drugs at all.

Thanks Basilisk.
You said it all.
