so whenever i am starting a new track i start everything from scratch from making kick, bass, perc patterns to everything....
i sometimes feel that i should save my presets of perc, bass because sometimes i really make good perc patterns by luck but then i stop myself from saving the preset so that i don't use them again in any project just to get rid of little effort of making new sound again.....
as human nature tries to reduce work i know if i save them once i will use them again and not work on new sounds
i don't want my next project to sound like my previous one but i miss those sounds sometimes

how many of you save presets and use them again and again ?

I do same as You
Making from presets is boring for me.

Another thing is that, is many of sounds must be corrected to new project for good mix so I like better create new from 0           http://www.beatport.com/release/cross-the-atoms/1042450

i save some of my presets (20% maybe). sometimes they help a lot, especially old ones. also i save the most successful sounds.
if you start using presets, its better to use your own ones, then someone's else.
moreover i never use 1 preset in absolutely same manner twice.

I have never saved a preset!

Unless I'm switching from sequencer to another.

Can't see the point.

If you know your synths well, it can't take more then a few minutes to dial near whatever sound it was that was wanted.

But, whatever works for the individual here.           .

I only save presents of synths from time to time, which I really like, but I never use the same sound again, always change it.           Triplag Music

i save presets of synths sometimes dureing producing, especially when i tweak out of it something ocasianally, and don't use that sound in current track. Also I save some routing templates in Reaper, like tracks for kick and bass sidechained.
Also, sometimes I don't write music, but just make sounds and save presets =)           http://soundcloud.com/aedem

i can just reccomend to save them

not for using again in other tracks as much as for having it for remixes , live , and project crashes..

beside another idea is , sometime using same bass patch for example or same drum kit can give some 'solidarity' to several tracks that are not in same key or same groove etc.

Custom presets only for reverbs and delays.           A friend told me once that the biggest mistake we make is that we believe we live, when in reality we are sleeping in the waiting room of life.

sometimes, but only for something like bass on particular instruments where it was a pain in the ass to get the sound I got out of it... then if I use that instrument again, I go from the preset and try to change it up a bit and see what else I can get out of it. There's a few fx that I might use, like a couple of really wierd gating sequences on the camel space or something like that, but for the most part not really. I might save a couple weird ones I liked, but I usually never use that preset again.           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.
