Darius, some producers have a sort of direct contact to the second planet (or what you call "it")

Well, when you'll have your first contact with Mother Earth (or what we call "reality") please let me know !

haha Oh no worries, Mother Earth and gaja is strong with me. I might not have green fingers or be a great trekking person. But earth and nature is with me. And after living in ,,reality" for so many years, it's nice to know I'm IN reality now. Never has reality been as exiting and wonderful !! - taste is taste my friend, granted to the fullest. I'm only saying he deserves the praise he gets, because I'm not alone about knowing what real really is. . Again, KDD's music is fairly unknown to me. Hope to one day realize his power as well.

Psy for the psychedelic - Kov for the holy and sky for the cloudless mind!

They are both genius' in their own respect. Arguably the top 2 the more psychedelic genre has seen ever. Kindzadza's old sound is what/still gets me ticking. Na Ostrov, For the Princess, Night Flower, Coming Soon, Davai Sake, On The Night Side, Kill It etc. etc. etc. etc. ..... was Kindzadza at his best IMO. I like some new Kzz nonetheless, and the production is simply stellar.

As for Psykovsky, for me he is without doubt the best musician this genre has seen. His music took me to places and left me hanging on the boundaries of the infinite.

Even though i would haveto tilt towards Psykovsky just because his Debut album was so personal and special to me. At the end of the day they are masters, and shouldn't really be compared.

Psykovsky/Kindzadza/Osom rocks!

muahaha !
are you guys serious or this is a stupid joke ? What the hell is happening with the world or what the fuck happent with the trance scene ?

So many big words like "stellar production, genius, master, boundaries of the infinite..pfff" associated with a bounce of noises which some kids around here call it music !

Sorry for being rude...but i just can't take it anymore ! It's too much ....

Dude, have you ever listened to any of the old classics? Especially stuff like Prana - "Alien Pets", Sandmans - "End of the World:, Sandman - "Natural Born Killer" or Hallucinogen's non-album releases? They all have this very dark and psychedelic style.

I am finding more and more that a lot of the people who complain about dark psy just never were a part of the early styles in the scene, or else never bothered to pay enough attention to see that this scene always had a psychedelic and darker sound right from the side.

As I've said plenty of times, noone forces you to listen to this music or to dance to it, so you therefore have no right to be rude and insult the taste of those of use who like it on here.

Go back to your full on and monotonous proggi/minimal.           I hate you, you hate me, we are all so hap hap happy!

' am finding more and more that a lot of the people who complain about dark psy just never were a part of the early styles in the scene, or else never bothered to pay enough attention to see that this scene always had a psychedelic and darker sound right from the side. '

Gms - pitch black ,is the best example i can remember
or for that matter logic bomb - neighbour of the beast.

Logic Bomb, old Simon, Prana, even Parasense and other older projects that made psychedelic music with a darker edge, have nothing to do with Kindzadza or psykovsky. Take for example Neighbour Of The Beast that insane mentioned. Its much slower in BPM, there is space instead of walls of glitch, clear leads, no high pitched kiddie blips and a REAL dark vibe that is psychedelic, not mentioning the production which is light years ahead.
I am not knocking the whole dark sub genre, and I like tunes that are not produced to perfection. A couple of Osom tunes have some nice moments, but these tunes are very sparse and the good moments are sparse withing those tunes. There are too many places without a beat (whith non existent groove...although I like somewhat "robotic" and stale beats) and I'd have to play them tunes at -6. They sound much better there.

^ and the 170 + bpm's dont belong to that genre imo 99% of em def dont..
the slower ones and particularly many of the foresty ones have a clear atmosphere of darkness we like.. atleast some of us clearly do so its still around.
yes, logic bomb were really good. miss those days too Kluster also

So is there is an identity crisis withing the dark genre as well then. Not that its the only sub genre within the trance scene where things are mislabeled and made more complicated by people who like to label and pigeon hole sounds and styles.
There are some moments in "darkpsy" that I just get blown away by some twisted glitch effects. Not that its so hard to put a glitch plug in on the master fader and choose the best bits, but the selection of audio regions and arrangement is quite forward thinking. Unfortunately its been done to death and "darkpsy" being the new trend with kids these days, you do get to hear an awful lot of crap and the very few good tunes, get lost in the ocean of new releases withing this style...just like any other trance style that became the order of the day.
And there are some minimal tunes hat just roll, letting the listener to pick out the intricate small things in the atmosphere which is a lot better than the already chewed up and spat out israeli cheese fest filled with generic melodies that are ready to digest.
But what I cant stand in what people call "darkpsy" are the frantic tempos, the lack of space, the boring basslines and their very often too high notes, the crazy soundscapes that are there for the sake of "madness" that impresses mostly the younger ages the many many parts where the beat stops and the tunes are simply not rolling enough... and off course the silly label "darkpsy"...a label that completely misses the point when you hear the actual music.

But...it is a new style (dont start on older projects that were making dark psychedelia a decade ago, it sounds nothing like it today, neither it shoes evident influences, and is simply a logical progression of yesterday's real dark trance) and the potential is massive. It is music for the mind, but if the producers get a bit (quite a lot actually) more "serious" and leave the frantic tempos and silly madness, out, it can be a great thing for the scene overall as it does point to a deeper direction of driving eccentrisicm, instead of music that points to the latest expensive eyeware.
