ok guys i need to record a couple of dialogues from a movie which ill be playing in windows media player in wavelab ...
pls help me with the settings and how to do it ???

options > prefrences
choose your audio card for recording.....
and then just press record..... and it will record
the playback of your soundcard
very simple

dosent work bro
i went to preferences and set my soundcard as the device for both the audio playback and recording .
then i selected the option record what plays back , and press record but nuthin seems to get recorded ,
the recorded , disk space used number dont show anything
what could be the problem ??
do i need to try soundforge ??
pls hlp ... |

no record no shit,
just open the wav file and cut it wherever you want to.
if you have a movie file(.avi, .mpg etc) then 1st download VirtuaDub and Rip the audio from the movie, on the file menu you have "Save WAV"
than save it to a wav file, ones you have a wav file just open it with wavelab, on the file menu click Open or CTRL+O from anywhere in wavelab,

Input imho recording the playback
is much faster and easier because you recordd only what you need and you don't have to work with annoying video formats which usually are very large
