I need some new influences

I want to listen to something different than psychedelic, but to have some psychedelic feel in it. An example could be apex twin, or chemical brothers. Doesn't have to sound like them. Anything, any genre. Cause the more I am listening to psychedelic, the more I am starting sounding like everyone else. Any suggestions? |

try some "tangerine dream" if you can get your hands on their work. definately will take you away from the standard style.

I just got really inspired today checking out some old body music and electro stuff from around 88.
Stuff like front242, nitzer ebb, ministry(much guitar stuff...but the not the twitch album which is nice), liasons dangerouses (original trance from 82! "los nijos de la parque"), skinny puppy, frontline assembly, a split second.
Definatly worth checking out if you want to know the roots of goa trance.
And definatly tangerine dream, which is the roots of ambient...very nice music. (``·.¸(``·.¸(``·.¸¸.·`´)¸.·`´)¸.·`´)

are you sure that you need 'new influences' ? and even if this is the case, these influences might not be musical. go to a trip without music, and come back and write some..

try some autechre,boards of canada...and many other crazy electronica stuff.i find them very inspiring. or maybe some nice post rock stuff...whatever suits u best really.or maybe a nice girl 
2b honest, havent been listening 2 much trance lately...im not up to date at all,nobody can be nowdays tho...
however my inspiration and ideas in terms of mus production have deffinitely expanded...in a way.

I got so excited from my little goa roots revival yesteday, I did a top 10 with some electronica/body music/new beat/acid/goa from 1981-1991.
Check it out, a couple of the tracks is hard to find nowadays, but most has been on loads of compilations and re-relased a few times and should be available if you look a bit.
