BIG OPPORTUNITY!
I'm preparing myself as a live musician, performing Trance/Techno at raves in London (one day the WORLD!! harharhar). I'm currently writing as much material as possible (it sounds GOOD!), I've got enough contacts to choose from for record labels and parties....I'd expect to have my first gig and maybe a record deal by the end of this year.
My name will be Kudos.
I'd like someone to design some logo's for me. I just want the name 'Kudos', perhaps in a curly+spikey style.
I'll be using the logo on any CD's I release, for flyers, websites, and I'm even going to get it painted up on a banner in UV to hang in front of my gear when I'm on stage.
I'm making this offer to lots of people, but I'll chose the best one, and that person will get full credits wherever it can be mentioned, plus a few of each CD that I release (with your credits in to show yer mates!), plus a cash gift as a thankyou (perhaps about £100/$150)
I'll need the logo as hi-res graphics (you can send lo-res first to apply), and the logo should be readable as a silouhette for masking purposes, or if it acn only be printed in black/white. It can be in full colour. I won't need it on a background - it should be surrounded by a single colour so it can be more flexible.
Something curly/spikey, not too evil, but organic perhaps, or metallic looking, or scaly like a reptile...not too detailed though - it might be used for really small squinty print as well as huge CD covers or t-shirts.
Maybe you could design a symbol for it too...?

Nice try BoRa, although I had in mind something a bit 'fatter' and spikier and more organic...
There's no great hurry, there's plenty of time. I won't need to use the logo until I'm actually out there in the scene...in other words it won't be until I have my first gig (which would be at least 6 months away if not more), or when I have a CD coming out (even longer!).
I just wanted to give people the opportunity to be creative, at your own pace, with a chance that you might get something out of it, and if for some reason I never make it as a trance artist...then what the hell, we should all be happy with our creations and accept that as our benefit rather than expecting anything financially rewarding. I've given you all a starting idea to go and create something - I like to do something in return for the inspiration I have received from other artists. I'll stop now before I get too philosophical...!!
I'll start a website someday, showing your submissions, perhaps putting them in order preference...maybe that way everyone will get a better idea of what I'm looking for.
It's just a little creative fun...and it's got a chance of giving you a bit more exposure.

No, I'm not looking for a proffessional service...I don't want to be paying through the nose for it. I'm looking for someone who actually enjoys it and would enjoy doing it in their free time, as a kind of hobby....just like I write my music in my spare time...I'd like to write music for money but somehow I feel it takes away the creative aspect (same difference as those parties that are there for the vibe and those that are there to make money from beer sales)...I work full time as an application developer by the way...and I never sit at hoem writing my own software! :) |

There's plenty of time at the moment. I'm just getting ready for it...the logo should be on 'standby' until I start getting bookings...that's when I can really start living up to the name...'Kudos'. MONTHS AWAY though...at the rate I'm going. I only need a hour's worth of material....I can put together an awesome sounding 32-bar block of Psy Trance in one night...but it's all the arranging of it that'll take the time.
The way that I write at the moment is to start from the middle...working on the busiest part first....then perhaps working on one or two variations...then patching them together - which takes the longest cos I have to come up with nice build ups and transitions...then I just have to work on the Intro and ending!......I have a very technical approach..!!
I'm seeing Wizzy Noise tomorrow night!! Can't wait...it'll be my last party at the venue (Cloud 9) because it's being repossessed by the RAILTRACK...just like the Drome was...is this a party crackdown? If Tyssen street goes too then it would be obvious... |

Here's a suicide logo, sounds like something similar to what you're after? If so, i do this style quite a lot...

You got the idea Rauri! I love that graffiti style...and the outline has just the kind of curves and angles that I had in mind. When I'm on Acid I see those sort of shapes (and I somehow 'hear' it too...)
I'm still working on new sounds...building up more (unfinished) tracks. I've got about 9 tracks that sound good enough to be played at parties....so it won't be too much extra work to arrange them out...I'm waiting for that next burst of inspiration when I'll just work on them all and then before I know it I'll have a whole album's worth of material.
The music at the Psy Trance parties here in London has changed a bit over the last few months. The other night I saw Etnica (Spirit Zone Recs) do a live set and the sound from them was coming out in...er..3D I think. Must have been the Acid but I was hearing everything in more dimensions than ever. Heard the same effect at the last Kundalini...forgot who was playing though. |
