I need an 'artist' name, but can't think of any!

It's about time to start my own Myspace, and have some of my music scraps loaded up.
But I just can't think of a reasonable artist name for myself.
I really have tried every word combination of 'Psy' + whatever, but I believe every cool Psy name has already be taken:-)
Leaving it as it is now, isn't a good idea either, as lots of people interpretate it as being pronounced as 'DJ-ones', or just 'Jones'.
So what should I do?

D-jones could work if you like the concept.
As for artist name starting with psy I dont find appealing.
I would forget everything with infected or mushroom. its not serious we already have a band called that way the others are just copy cats.
Find something original that you like it doesnt have to have been used in psy to be psy.

If u can't pop out a decent and unique artist name that means that u simply haven't defined urself and u shouldn't start your Myspace Music yet.
It is very personal, u should feel it...

I agree it's one of the hardest things to decide upon.
My personal criteria list was endless.
- Something that defines you as an individual
- doesn't put people off
- isn't pretentious
- doesn't pigeonhole your genre
- is original and not similar sounding to other groups
- is cool but you won't hate it after a few years
- is memorable
In the end I picked a name I've been happy with for the last 5 years, but it took a long time.
A lot of the best names just pop into your head, or you are watching a film or listening to the radio and someone will just say a phrase or word and you think 'wow, that's perfect!'
I'd like to keep my name the same for all genres I work on, but I know a lot of prolific producers have crazy amounts of aliases!
In the end though, it comes down to your music and the meaning of the name fades and starts to become mentally associated with your sound.
If you really analyze some popular band names, they're actually really stupid, you've just heard them so many times you get used to them.
Fleetwood Mac?? The Beatles (spelt wrong!), Jefferson Airplane!! ZZ top,
Dave dee dozy beaky mick tich (not good music, but bizzare name!)
I adore Colin (OOOD/Voice of Cod's) music but the names are pretty hard to tell people with a straight face! |

yes, and your myspace adress can be different than your artist's name...
so you can keep your url and change your name later if you find a better one 
(without 'psy' inside, please)

I believe that the music makes the name "cool" or "fitting" not the other way around.
I mean how cool is the name "The Beatles" and "U2" if it werent for the fantastic music?

Most people i know have changed their first "artist name"..me inclusive..
so take it easy..i think nobody will be angry with you if you do..
maybe if you do it too often, cause if you got good music and people search for you..but you alread have changed your name 7 times..nobody will find you.. ;-)
so take it serious if you start to think about liveacts & releases and stuff..
but if another name helps you to keep creative in the beginning go for it..imo
