its a nice toy but it is really really old (released in 1995) if you want a cool red synth and a midi controller it is maybe worth it but if you want to get from your budget the most powerfull synth you can buy- forget about it.

i think it s a bit expensive but i m not really sure, i have seen some nordlead2 cheaper than that.(i think it was around 600 $ for a nl 2 ) and yes it s old check everyhting is working properly. the good buy you can do in this price range is the nord modular at around 500$ imo

Unless your really like the nord sound and know what you want to do with it, don't get it. Its old and its got crappy sound factory. you're better off with plugins now a days. vst are easier to use and you can get loads of patches. its also easy to store your own patches..

anyhow thats about 350 sterlings . thats a bit more than I payed for my nordlead 2. you can get real good controllers for much less. mpk 49, novation remote sl. ect...

a good controller(s) combined with the tones of really good softsynths outhere really does make the nordlead look outdated.

yes i agree but the nord can be very evil if you like the sound it worth it cause no vst sound like that(but if you are into melodic stuff you might be disapointed ).the modular is a better buy imo , you can pacth a nord 1 or a nord 2 in it and you have one

Go for Discovery Pro and d/l the Nordlead sysex data.

It`s an excellent compromise.
And you get all the nord lead sysex from original to latest nord.

Plus you can get a red skin for discovery, looks and sounds like Nord lead to me.
